PlayOverwatch on Youtube has uploaded the following trailer and post revealing the upcoming crossover:
AUTOBOTS, you know what to do!
The fight for Cybertron is coming to a Future Earth near you with Overwatch 2 x TRANSFORMERS. Stand strong with the heroic AUTOBOTS, or face them alongside the evil leader of the DECEPTICONS.
Overwatch 2 x TRANSFORMERS arrives in-game July 9.
Overwatch 2 is free to play for everyone on console & PC!
Our newest collaboration is More Than Meets The Eye.
Overwatch had previously teased Transformers content in the last season trailer and now we also have a short comic to gives us more context for upcoming crossover.
I know nothing about this game, but this trailer has me stoked! Transformers always look best flying across ludicrous distances and slamming explosions into each other. More of this please!

Such a pity that playing Overwatch feels nothing like the way it's depicted in that animated short. There needs to be an asterisk disclaimer at the bottom reading, 'Actions presented in this commercial may not resemble actual gameplay'. Video game commercials have a long history of violating truth-in-advertising laws .

Exactly what I've been saying for years. YES it will be expensive, but I cant see a series this well animated fail (unless you have Kevin Smith write it). . Get any of the remaining contributors of the original series, BW, and Prime to contribute. Would be the greatest version of TF ever.

And that show still got its second season, giving it 3 parts total. So even then, not that much of a failure.
Transformers Overwatch Skin Pack Will Cost Players Almost the Price of a New Game

Gaming is currently the most lucrative market in all leisure/entertainment and this news shows us exactly why. Overwatch dropped a game trailer of the new Transformers skins and we now know how much they cost.
The skins for Reinhardt, Bastion, Illari, and Ramattra to look like Optimus, Bumblebee, Arcee and "Megatron" respectively cost 2500 coins (the in game currency) each but the skin pack costs 5900 coins and 1 coin is the equivalent of 1 penny. HOWEVER, you cannot just convert money into the exact number of coins you need, coins are purchased in stacks of 10000.
So, for you to have enough coins to purchase the skin pack, and get the 4 skins, you need to convert $60 USD into in game currency. If you just want 1 skin, you will need to convert $30 USD into in game currency. Of course, this is all assuming you currently have no left over in game currency already from previous purchases.
Below are images of the skins along with the gameplay trailer.

S2 was greenlit before S1 aired, a mistake often made by Netflix. Just fulfilling a contractual obligation, that pretty much nobody watched or cared about.

And since no one can ask you for any proof, like numbers that would mean anything without a detailed analysis of general watch habits across streaming services correlated to MOTU toy sales over the past decade that didn't correspond to comic sales, without completely derailing the thread, then I guess you win! Well done sir! You've inspired me to start s#itting on Beast Machines using a silent majority argument in ANY Seibertron thread tangentially related to CGI! No, really, we all love you for this, o.supreme, because I say so!
As for the topic at hand, those prices just killed what little desire I had to pursue video games beyond Retrocade and its ilk. The fact that enough players are willing to fork over anywhere near that much for a few skins they like and not get any physical toy or anything just helped me understand the logic behind the economics that led to NFTs, so thanks Will!

Blizzard's ridiculously predatory practices have been evident since Overwatch 1.5 (it's not a sequel. It's barely an upgrade/) dropped. They want to be Fortnight but whereas Fortnight is sorta fair in that you can get everything from the season without paying, you have to really work at the game to earn everything. You have no hope in hell of doing so with OW2.
Shame. Overwatch 1 was really quite fun once and the design aesthetic is a delight.

These Overwatch skins are only cosmetic, and make no difference in how the character itself plays in the game. A luxury purchase. I guess if you have the money to blow, and don't mind doubling the amount of money you pay for a game, then more power to you. But generally, there's a word for people like that.
Suckers.

The price for the skins is too high.
Outside of that, having Transformers inspired skins in the game is a fun idea. It's the digital equivalent of setting up your toys and playing imaginary battles and crossovers.
