Wow Spider-Man 3 the game looks like crap!

Check the link below. This game looks horrible and it's being made exclusively for next gen systems! Marvel Ultimate Alliance looks tons better and that was a port from the older systems. How sad. And they state "this is all actual in game video" like we should be awestruck by it.

It's the newest trailer

Thank god I own Ultimate Spider-man.

The only thing that looked good was the environments, Spider-man looked like crap, like he took a shower in KY Jelly.

That looks terrible. The actual model of Spiderman looks like someone just found out what dynamic lighting is and wanted to use it as much as possible

It's truly sad when Superman: The Movie game looks better than a game that's already had two releases before it to help get it right. And heres a dumb question. Why is there no anti-aliasing on any of the surfaces? They can't say because of how large the city is they had to cut it to save memory. Because Crackdown is a giant sandbox as well and looks twice as good as this with no slowdown.

I'd normally be inclined to say the 360 version will be better but I don't think that will be true because the models themselves are so low in poly count. Ugh I was really hoping for an almost movie quality look to this game. Makes me really hope this trailer was show about a year ago and they've been working feverishly since then to polish it.

I just find it odd that a game that's not out for two months already has a 9.1 rating. :-?

well the gameplay doesn't look that bad (although I question having spider-man actually "run" accross a vertical wall). But yeah, the graphics need to be cleaned up. I hope that's just quality loss from translating it to a video.

The rating is from fans. Normally games get rated high at first based on the premise and past games. When it's actually released you'll see it settle to a more accurate rating as people play it.

That really doesn't look next gen, it looks only a little better than the last movie game.

It looks like a Wii game mixed with a PS2 game. The PS3 has much better graphics capabilities than that.

As does the 360. Which is why I'm so appalled by the looks of it. I'm getting thrashed for being a "graphics whore" on gamefaqs as well for saying this. But am I not entitled to see improved visuals on consoles that are over 3 times more powerful than the ones from last gen? Don't we deserve to have great visuals along with great gameplay when we're spending an extra $10 on a game?

I agree. The shine doesn't match the dark areas at all, not to mention that fabric doesn't shine like that.

Well, if the games have only been getting larger maps since the first movie game, then what would this one include?

And yeah, the graphics are nice, but not up to par with what should be on next-gen systems. I'll buy it anyway, though.

Do you think they'll have Venom playable again, like in Ultimate Spider-Man? I'd assume he'd come with improved gameplay.

Possibly, but I thought that he would appear near the end of the movie and be the major villain in Spider-Man 4.

I don't care so much about the graphics as I do the gameplay. If you check out the video interview at Gamespot, they say they're bringing back Spidey web powers! Which was my biggest problem with the last 2 games. They had NO web abilities. No web laso, no web dome, no web fists, etc. How can you have Spider-man without his web powers? That's what makes him Spider-man. That's why I favour the 1st movie game and the old PS1 games over #2 or Ultimate.

#1 was okay, but #2 had at least the web fists. It also had the ability to swing thugs around by webbing to hit other thugs, then hang them from a lamppost.

They also had the Slingshot, which was all kinds of useful. Spidey used it in the second movie (When Doc Ock was holding Aunt May hostage), and in the game, it's awesome. One of my favorite moves.

I love the slingshot but many times it was easier just to do a high hard swing and activate your speed boost. I can't count how many times I accidentally threw out two lines and launched myself in the opposite direction of what I wanted to go. Something funny that so many people never realized you can do is sit on top of street lights and flag poles. If you catch one, instead of just swinging a couple times and launching yourself let yourself stop and he'll pull himself up and sit on the post. Worthless but still cool.

I confess I'm still judging by PS2 standards, but I think that looks terrific. It might not use the hardware to its best capacity, but it looks to me as if it will allow for an experience of playing as Spider-Man in NYC beyond what the last two games did. For example, the preview gives the impression of seamless integration of the city with interiors, including sewers. Cool! If the bullet-time of dodging among flying cars is actual gameplay and not cutscene, I'm doubly impressed. I'm not a huge Spider-Man fan, but I enjoyed the first two games thoroughly, and I'm glad they're expanding on that format.

I hope the game isn't as abysmal as Spider-Man 2 for PC.
This new game better have web abilities like in 1, and Bruce Campbell making fun of you during training.

Now are you actually friends with him or is that more of a quote from someone you see on TV and find funny? :P I've met him a few times, and he's a tiny guy. Especially when compared to his tall and hot wife. :x

As for the game... I'm not diggin it. No Spider Man game has impressed me since Maximum Carnage on the Genesis.

Well actually I like the style of the third game.
