So, I had heard rumors about this Dynasty Warriors: Gundam game.
Thought it was only idle rumor. Until a friend told me it was on X-box live for demo download.
So I go on there and download the sucker.
This is easily the coolest friggin' gae I ever played.
Mass war and carnage wth the addition of mobile suits everyone knows and loves.
http://xbox360.ign.com/objects/905/905484.htmlDear lord is this game going to rock the hell out of any other Gundam game.
Now why couldn't Hasbro get a Transformers game like this made..... it would fit in so perfectly.

Wow that looks so fun. I hope Tallgeese is an unlockable.

I'm really starting to think it may be.
You can play as Char, the photos of playable mechs show Char's Zaku, Gelgoog and the Zeong.
So, since you can play as Zechs in the Epyon, there is a good chance that we'll get Zechs in the Tallgeese and maybe Tallgeese 3
I'm thinking you play as a pilot, then choose different suits under said pilot. Hopefully.

Played the demo, pleasantly suprised to be honest. I didn't had very high hopes for it. The story looks like one big fail but everything else is fun.
They even have a puru!
Also a major plus in my book: The ability to pick between japanese and english voices.
To bad I had to make an american account to even download the demo though. Cause that mostly means that they will screw over Europa (AGAIN) and release it here long after the rest of the world has the game.

Don't have a 360 yet, but this is one of my must gets. I'm sure I will play the heck out of this game, as I still pop in Gundam vs. Zeta Gundam every once in a while. And I'm glad it's also on the 360, cause there is very little reason for me to want a PS3 other than MGS4.
Hopefully if the game sells well enough it'll prompt Bandai into bringing over ZZ Gundam and Turn A Gundam, since both main suits are featured in the game.
There's also that Battlefield game coming out soon as well, so that's the possiblity of two GOOD Gundam games coming out, a rarity unto itself.

Yeah, the story is a little weak. However, I don't think there is a concrete way for them to make a story that perfectly melds every timeline of Gundam, so thats one thing I can overlook.
Also, they have both Puru and Puru Two in the game, you only see the one in the demo, but they have screen shots of the other.
I think the only suit I didn't recognize while playing the Demo, were the red suckers with the two shields on either arm, and a pointy head.
http://media.xbox360.ign.com/media/905/ ... 03566.htmlI can only assume they were in Zeta or Seed or something.

Interesting. Well I sure hope so. Guess I will look into getting a 360.
It'd be nice to have overly huge explosions to accompany destruction of every single enemy. Then again, I am probably being nitpicky. It still looks good

I can't wait until the 28th myself. I hope that there are a buttload of playable suits. I wouldn't be surprised if at some point you will be able to "buy" more suits via Xbox live. Like on Marvel Ultimate Alliance.

I played the demo and I really dissapointed it's a complete crap. That's my oppinon. It's much worse then the japanese Transformers game for the Flopstation 2.

That's the Gaza C from Zeta Gundam and ZZ Gundam. In Gundam vs. Zeta Gundam, it's a pretty terrible suit. Not the worst, but not agile. Basicly, it's one of the few mass production transforming MS's made in the UC timeline at that point. It was the Axis's grunt MS of choice at the tail end of Zeta(cause it's all they had), but I haven't seen ZZ, and I'm sure it was replaced by something bigger and better.
Here it is in it's mobile armor mode:

Question: Do the mobile suits like the Zeta transform?

I think you mean the Playstation 2. The PS3 may be a shelfwarmer at this point, but the PS2 is by no means a failure in any way.
Heck, they're still making games for it almost seven years after it launched.

Meh. I personally thought it was horrible. The camera is fricking horrible. Not to mention the fact that you have about 4 moves including your specials.

I didn't think the controls were too bad, as for the camera, if they had a center behind the character button, it wouldn't be a problem.
As for the moves, it was kinda neat trying to tie in the different combos they listed in the combo tree.
Maybe I'm just a huge mech fan and blinded by that fact.

Got my shiny new EGM in the mail today, and they gave it a review: 6.5, 5.5, 5.0.
They basicly said it was a repetetive button masher. Not surprising, but I think it still looks fun.

Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed what was there, but things like the camera and moveset were sort of glaring. I want to be able to just tear up the enemies with some flourish to my movements. Instead I get a few combos and some super moves. That and transforming was almost utterly useless....I'm not a large Gundam fan so I have no clue what Gundam is available to play. Looked like my Wing Gundam Ver. Ka model. I agree with you on the idea of having the ability to lock the camera behind your back. It's really not a hard thing to have when every clone of a clone that this is based off of has that feature. It's especially annoying when you're fighting a boss and they slip behind you. By the time you get that slow ass camera panned around, they've knocked you within an inch of your life, and have probably moved again.

The gundam was the Wing Zero.
And yeah, every time I have to change the camera, I just do several quick boosts backwards to get my bearings.
Since it was a demo, and they say that it's still unfinished, hopefully by the 28th we'll see a good chunk of improvements.
Although reading about the story, I came across something interesting.
IGN wrote:Official and Original are practically the same, although there are mild variations: whereas the Official mode takes missions from the various Gundam Universes, the Original mode is a new scenario that places some of the Gundam characters up against a mysterious planet that has suddenly appeared, threatening the entire galaxy.
From the same
article, it sounds like the customization of moves is going to be a lot better than what was seen in the demo. Thankfully.

I tried and I really liked it. I don't know much about Gundam(humans vs clones vs aliens, or something like that) and I know even less about Dynasy Warrior, but I'm looking foward to this game. I've heard every other Gundam game is crap, but this is pretty good. Though I agree, they need to fix the camera and give you some more combos. And the areas felt a little clostrophobic. But I do like that you can transform. Can't really fly very much, but at least it's there. If they come out with a collectors edition that includes a special figure, I'd buy it.
