X-Box 360 Game Suggestions

I'm considering getting an X-Box 360. The problem is, I only want to get it if there are games that I'd like.
I'm a fan of platformers, 3rd person action games (especially run-n-guns like classic Megaman), RPG's, adventure games, some racing games, and I've been considering MMO's. I'm not really a fan of violent games (and my parents actually look at game ratings, go figure) so M-rated games are out of the question, except for possibly Halo (since my parents know how good it is).
Any suggestions?

Well...Gears Of War, one of the 360's BEST is out of the question then.
For racers theres PGR3, Forza 2 and Dirt, all great games.
Crackdown is a good free-roaming 3rd person action game, for Rpgs theres Elder Scrolls and a few others but i dont pay attention to them as i dont play RPG's.

Blue Dragon coming out next week for XBox 360, its like DragonQuest one of the most anicipated RPGs for the 360 characters look like there from the Dragonball series, based of Akira Tor. characters. So you should probably get that for the 360, heard it was pretty good.
TWo Worlds is coming out this Friday, heard it plays and maybe even better than Elder Scrolls Oblivilion

Good news, everyone!
I just had a conversation with my mom. She says that I can play M-rated games, it just depends on the game in question.
So basically, you can suggest M-rated games now. Go crazy!
Also, don't worry too much about release dates. I'll most likely be getting the 360 for Christmas.
Are there any features of the system itself that'd make it worth buying?

I know how much of a Sonic fan you are but steer well clear of this garbage, it will make you cry. It makes Shadow the Hedgehog seem enjoyable, just get Sonic Rush Adventure on the ds instead you'll thank me for it later.
If you insist on playing it rent it, you'll be annoyed with the longest loading on a 360 game and more wtf deaths than you can shake a stick at as its so bugged.

Dude?! Sonic The Hedgehog?!?! Havnt you seen how much that game sucks? Havnt you played the demo or read ALL the reviews that say it sucks?

Well, maybe I'll rent it before I get it (or before I open it if I get it with the console for Christmas) to see if I like it, and return/avoid it if it sucks. But many Sonic fans have learned to enjoy it, look at half of the reviews by rabid Sonic fans on IGN!
On another note, I reserved Halo 3 today!

Here's what X-Play said about Sonic the Hedgehog (Because X-Play > IGN):
Sonic the Hedgehog is a lot like Gonorrhea. Symptoms include:
Dizzyness? Check
Audio and Visual Impairment? Check
Flare-ups every three to six months? Check
Vomiting? (Sonic: "I guess being a Princess isn't easy!") CHECK!
Wait, Gonorrhea doesn't cause vomiting. There you have it:
Gonorrhea, slightly better than Sonic the Hedgehog.

X-Play hates Sonic the Hedgehog, therefore their opinion is invalid.

They also hate Final Fantasy, and FF12 got a 5/5. They said "Twelfth Time's the charm."
They hate Sonic the Hedgehog because the series genuinely SUCKS. It hasn't been good since they released Sonic Adventure. What Sega doesn't get is that no one likes the 3D control scheme, it's terrible to control. It took me forever to be able to get used to Shadow the Hedgehog, and even then it wasn't very good. I think the only good part of the game was hearing Sean Schemmel (Who I still have fond memories of from DBZ) replicate Soundwave.

X-Play isn't always right. Game ratings are often based on inertia.
For example, the Battle Network series' downward spiral didn't help the scores of BN5, BN6, or Star Force.
This is the same here. Games are rarely rated solely on their own merit.

This is different. Sonic SUCKS! Hell if you have a 360 why not just download the demo and see for yourself! Take the biggest bugs with the camera from any of the other 3d sonic games, and add infinity to it. Yes, its THAT bad!
Not to mention the controls are utterly unresponsive and useless.

I've got and completed every other main Sonic game since the first one on the Megadrive, on their original consoles and even I could't put myself through the agony of completing Sonic 360.
Thats how bad it is, wonky camera, unresponsive controls, wtf deaths(your lucky to complete a mission without restarting it numerous times), takes loading times into second gen console territory(yes I really want to see a 90 second loading screen for 3 lines of text before another 90 second load.). The only charachter that is even barely controlable is Silver.
The biggest mistake though is to contine to let 4Kid$ do the English dub, the Sonic X dub is terrible but somehow they found a way to make it even worse.

Battle Network got bad scores because the gameplay and graphics NEVER CHANGED. I'd be playing BN6 right now if there was some sort of major change in gameplay, aside from nifty little costumes I know I'm never going to use.
As for the 4Kids dub of Shadow the Hedgehog, I think the only good voice actor was Sean Schemmel, because A) I still have fond memories of Goku (I was more of a Goku guy then a Vegeta guy), and B) Black Doom sounded very similar to Frank Welker's Soundwave/Dr. Claw.

That's nice. What does your Goku obsession have to do with me asking about 360 games?

We were talking about how poopy Sonic the Hedgehog's games have been since Sonic Adventure came out. I was naming the only redeeming feature from Shadow the Hedgehog.
It was started about a page ago. How could you have missed it?

I figured X-play was invalid was because it was X-play.
Honestly, I'm surprised G4 wasn't torn down ages ago.

isn't the original sonic game on live arcade you could just download that for the 360
