I'm a novice gamer, and don't follow them that closely outside of a handful of real good ones.

I also don't like sports, but I know watching my friends play all the Madden games and what not, reguardless of the content, their stuff always looks real good.

So I'm very intrested in this, I love the Armada game, the movie game looked great, but wasn't realy good.

TFs need a boost in video game land to rebuttle and fute that last one!

i would prefer just about any other company make it. EA games cranks out so many games-sequels-ports, etc. per year that none of there games have decent support.

Take need for speed: carbon as an example. The games was good but riddled with glitches that a simple patch would fix...yet they didn't. The PS3 version should have had all cars available that were available in the ce edition(and advertised as if they would be available on the ps3) on the other consoles...i say this because they never offered the ce for the ps3, again, a simple patch. Hell most people with the game would have even paid the 10bucks extra to get the cars through the ps-store. One of the stipulations to unlockt the porsche 911 was to beat an EA Mod in online mode...the problem is that the ea mods were never once available online.

ok...maybe i just hate EA and am mad cause i couldnt drive around carbon in the 240, CC, 911, etc...

I work in auto advertising, and the real 911 is no joke!

Porsche has all there ignitions on the left side of the console so you can turn the key, shift, and hit the clutch and gas at the same time.

It makes for amazing take offs!

If you ever have the chance, try it for real

As for the TF game, these are good notes to keep in mind as I get judge if I should get my hopes up or not :-?

I suspect EA could do a better job than the movie game. Did you see their Lord of the Rings games? These people know how to make a film-to-game transition something other than lame. Not everything they make is great, but they do avoid the carbon-copy game design that seems to miss the idea that games are meant to be fun. Whether it's a superior version of the movie game or something TF:A, I'm looking forward to it.

Yeah but it's no excuse for the other 90% crap they've turned out over the past several years. The last EA game I bought was Battle for Middle Earth and thats only pecause I was at a party at the sutdios in Los Angles (games were being sold at employee prices to guests), thus there was $25 of my money they didn't get. They want that money? They gotta give me something new and good, sadly that won't happen with the current management.

EA trying to avoid carbon copy's of their games? Have you not seen their sports games? Every year, it's the same game, just updated information. And too few people realise it. The make tweaks and fixes but thats it.

EA would bleed TF dry. All they'd do is release the same game each year with a new story and characters. Nothing new to the gameplay, which would only be decent at best.

To ROASBUSTER, again, I'm a game novice, and thats stretching my abilities at play. I've seen endless repitition from just about every company.

Now keep in mind, I'm not asking this in a mocking way, but as you seem to have more experience in this field, what company would you like to see make the next TF game, and why?

I guess I shouldn't limit this question to just ROADBLOCK, I'd like to hear any valid opinions.

Funniest statement, ever.

Look at the crap EA churns out. They do nothing for Madden, they just rerender the same game with "next gen" graphics, slap on a different number, and boom. The next game is ready to sell.

Now, lets take a look at their non-sport games. The 007 games to be precise. Goldeneye Rogue Agent, pure unadulterated crap. Every other 007 game they came out with, crap.

LOTR, more crap. Terrible controls, boring.

Honestly, the only reason why EA wants the Transformers license, is not so they can make a good TF game. But so they can make money off the Transformers name. The game could be complete crap, and yet, people will buy it because it has the name Transformers on it.

EA also has their claws on Mythic Entertainment, don't they?

Hmmmmmmm.

(I can dream, can't I? )

EA now owns what was once Westwood Studios, so they put out the Command & Conquer games and those based on the C&C engines.

Battle for Middle Earth I and II were both great (the "expansion" for II was good, if a little short), and C&C 3 is excellent.

Although many people said "they're not true C&C games", the Generals games are also antastic.

They also run the Sim City and Sims franchisea, which are quite good.

Medal of Honour is them, too. I think that's pretty much been eclipsed by Call of Duty lately (which was produced by MoH deserters), but it was good when it was still new.

Although I've never played them myself, I've heard good things about the Harry Potter games, too.

When they smell money in a potentially long running franchise, they do things right.

Or at least closer to right than a lot of other companies get.

QFT the only good thing is when EA snaps up a good company like Maxis but I dont have high hopes for this project. mabe if were lucky you'll get a aubot and decepticon team in the next madden. Just one promise please keep this game away from EA chicago those guys are jokes.

I hope dice is not going to develop it for EA, the graphic engines they use for their games are so unstable. Lets hope the system requirements won't be too high aswell. I don't want another choppy unplayable game that needs a supercomputer like Generals or BF1942/2 so that it could just play properly.

A 128MB Graphics card and 512MB of RAM is not a supercomputer. It's average.

Honestly, if you don't have those kinds of specs, you're pretty much out of luck. As games get more advance, so will computers. EA, Bungie, and all those guys aren't going back to sprites just because you don't have good enough specs.

Look man im not trying to attack you but Games like generals or BF2 never where able to run very well on that type specification and thats because the developer doesn't do very good job on optimizing the game's code. I had to get a 256 mb vid card and another 512 stick just to get some of their games to run. And when I do still experienced alot of performance problems. I checked the EA forums and all of the members recommended at least 2GB of ram for games like bf2, thats way above the recommended specification and its just unacceptable.

Edit: i must admit though I was abit too harsh on DICE for saying that their graphic engines are so unstable, its more of EAs fault becuase they don't give them enough time to optimize thier games' code. it ok if dice would develop th TF game as long EA will give them as much time as they need to polish everything.

Recommended it probably around 1GB, which is very normal for games nowadays. 512MB is the MINIMUM. And EA games aren't the only ones to suffer from that. Half-Life 2 runs like crap, and I have a 256 graphics card as well, and 512MB of RAM.

And I'd recommend 2GBs as well, because than you'd never have problems.

As long as Traveller's Tales doesn't join in on the TF game rape, it works. EA, is barely acceptable. Got Carbon, and was... surprised. I thought: WTF, did I buy a NFS Most Wanted game or Need for Speed Underground?!

EA sucks, but Traveller's Tales sucks more.

No, TT just sucked at Transformers. (And even then, it's arguable)

Remember Lego Star Wars? Because if you say that sucked, I have to Force Choke you.

Lego Star Wars? haven't played it. had a choice to buy either that or Gears of War. chose Gears of War.

Lego games... just isn't worth playing on a XBOX ^^
played a few games on my comp when I was little, but never liked them quite much. I grew up with a game called Privateer (god... that truly rocked. It was based on the Wing Commander series, somehow)Lego games was always in Privateer's shadow ^^

Travellers Tales is good at one thing. Raping good games, and making a trashy game, that truly can't be worth more than cannon fodder for the occasional trade in for games.

You couldn't be more wrong. Pick up Lego Star Wars, either one. Both games are quite simplistic, but they're extremely fun.

EA doesn't really make games, they publish them. They might still make some of there own series, but I'm not really sure (Need for speed, Madden, etc.) but for the most part other developer companies acctually make the games. I really hate EA with a passion. They are the Microsoft of the video game industry. Couple reasons:

#1. There backstabbing of Sega. The Dreamcast could of been a decent competitor in the last system war, but there was somewhat of a lack of respect from third party companies. Namely EA. Now if you recall way back in the day Sega was forced to give up the 8-bit war pretty quick and jump into the 16-bit war due to nintendo grabbing all the liscenses to third parties. Sega grabbed a small company called electronic arts to sign on with them to make games, and because of Sega, EA became what they are to this day. Of all companies to ditch Sega on Dreamcast, EA should NOT have been one of them!

#2. Stealing the James Bond Liscense for 10 years after Goldeneye on Nintendo 64 was a huge success. Its because of EA that we've only really gotton one good bond game!

#3. Stealing the NFL liscense away from everybody. Remember when you had a choice? Remember if you didn't like madden you could other games? Well after getting bitch slapped by Virtual Concept's $20 ESPN NFL 2k5 ($20 as opposed to Madden's $50 price tag) EA got an exclusive liscense for Madden. And honestly Madden looks like complete ass in comparison to the 2k series. Granted the 2k finally released a new football game, however if you want up-to-date NFL rosters and real NFL players, you have no other choice but madden. So why should they even bother making it look better, or play better? After all its your only choice now.

#4. Bad Game support. Speaking of madden why does the PC version look like the PS2 version instead of the Xbox 360/PS3 version? And patches are horrible on all of there games.

Now granted, I don't steer away or boycott EA because well you don't have much of a choice. Almost 90% of all games out there are published by EA. Many that I play. I still love the Need for speed series, and Battlefield 2 on the PC kicks ass. But I really think the government needs to step in and break up this monopoly!

As for them having the rights to the next TF game, could kick ass could suck. Most likely will suck. But not necessarily because of EA. Because all game companies take liscenses and exploit them. Rarely do we ever get a good liscensed video game. Goldeneye and Spiderman 2 are about the only ones I can remember

I suspect it'll be based on the new Animated series. Although who knows, it could be based on TFTM2. They are finalizing the character designs and story as we speak. And EA does do quite a few movie games; The Simpsons, Superman, Harry Potter, LotR, The Godfather. Ugh! Most of those are crap. Yeah, I hope it's not a movie game.

I'd like to see a new BW game personally.

you guys think of sports EA games, while I'm thinking of Sims 2 EA games. XD So I'm imagining a Sims versions of TF. lol! I don't seriously think they're gonna do that, but thats as high as my expectations are going right now. *snickers*
