Now i havent played it in a month, and its an old-model DS, but why would this happen?

Does anyone have any ideas?

I did and they said that it would cost 57.50 to get it fixed, so I decided to hold off

And low and behold, like an hour after writing this thread the touch screen started to work again, although the calibration was horribly off and needed fixing

so crisis averted

:)

They shouldn't charge anything. As long as the item's under warranty, it should be free.

It was the first-model DS, not the Lite, if it were the DS lite they just would have sent me a remanufactured one, and I would have just paid 5 bucks for shipping

Ah, warranty's expired then. Touche.

I like the DS Lite alot, but after all the pandamonium I went through to get a Blue DS, I don't think i'd ever want to trade it in.
