I find the two really hard to compare because they both offer something different.
I recently played through Halo 3 and found the single player to be very underwhelming, plus i think Metroid has a much better contol system, so its Metroid for the win!
However, co-op on Halo 3 rocks so hard it hurts.

Overall id say Metroid is a much better single player game, but you really can't mess with multiplayer Halo

I couldn't compare them.

Halo online is awesome, but I enjoy Metroid campaign mode much more. Plus, I finished the Halo games in about 7 hours. It takes 35 hours plus to finish a Metroid Prime game.

I think MP is better, it's more challenging, I haven't completed the first one jet! (damn you plant creature!)

Wile the first time I played Halo was the last two levels from H3, and they were easy!

Both. It's like comparing a 360 vs a PS2, they both have their great points and they both have their dissapointing aspects as well.

Wow man, stuck on the first major boss?

Do you know how to fight it yet?

Sorry if it seems demeaning of me, but I thought that was a pretty easy bout.

Yeah, I only really got stuck on the Omega Pirate. And then GameFAQs told me, and it was a preeze.

I got annoyed fighting the pirate on hard mode, and stopped playing for two months.

Then I went back and kicked his sorry ass.

Games with an actual hard mode=win every time.

Metroid Prime and Halo are very different games so comparison really isn't possible in a fair way. I prefer the exploration aspects of MP over the antics of Halo though.

You can't really compare the two games, they are two different genre's using the first person shooter aspect.

It's like trying to compare Portal to Halo. You just can't do it, they are two different game entirely.

Or like comparing them to Oblivion....in which case they'd both lose, if for no other reason by # of hours I have played it(180+ the first time through).

Halo Has a easy, normal, hard (or called Heroic), super hard (or called legendary),modes

on Legendary you can find an enemy but more likely they will find you and kill you

Master strafing him DM. If it's your first time through, I suggest just killing him if you get stuck. Go for 100% scans on your second run.

Legendary isn't hard. It's fun. :P

I'm going to have to say Halo, because it has awesome storyline, characters, weapons enemies, vehicles, location, multiplayer...

Come to think about it, it's just awesome.

You know, that's the funny thing about Metroid Prime....it's a FPS series where nobody wants it to be in FP because they think the suit is soo cool they want to see it more often.

Personally, I don't see why they didn't do something more akin to Gears of War with the over-the-shoulder view...or made it more of a platformer game. Also, I kinda miss the speed they had in the 2d games from Super Metroid on.

Thats hard because halo has amazing multiplayer and a great story and metroid prime has great design for the multiple planets and a huge amount of replay value. this comparison has been made for years now and i think it should end. besides both of those series are over now and there both overwhelmingly awesome so why argue more?

Both entirely different games, and Metroid Prime is CERTAINLY not a first person shooter. First Person Adventure Puzzler.

Halo's fun. Really fun, but only when you've got other people. In terms of design, gameplay and sheer value for money, Prime has it beat.

i never played metroid prime but i have to say super metoid has anough weapons, puzzles, action than halo could handle. :-P

Metroid Prime becuase it has a story line. Its not pointless rush shooting there you go. Each one of the games have abit of a different feal to it. When halo 2-3 are basically the same. I just dontt like halo its for more simple minded people when metroid primes have more thought than rushing. Multiplay dosent matter to me I think the halo multiplayer suck just a bunch of immature idiots screaming noob at you. If I want a multiplayer shooting game ill play BattleFeild. Also the fact Bungie lies and says Halo 3 is high def when its not. Most people who like halo are like metroid sucks becuase it dosent have blood and you have to think to play it. Saying halo has a storyline is like saying jesus believes in evolution.

Being a fan of both series, I have to say this:

Halo 2 & 3 are as much similar as MP 1 & 2: locations change, weapons stay essentially the same...couple of upgrades here & there. Rushing on Halo really depends on how far you turn the difficulty up (hell, I spent a good 3-4 hours trying to get past one group of brutes), & even then if it's too easy, turn on all the gold skulls & get your ass handed to you on a silver platter. & Metroid Prime really dosen't have much of a story. Like all other Metroid games, they mostly have the story pan out by having events happen around you, but virtually no interaction amongst characters...just Samus walking in & finding stuff.

*Go to location A* Oh sh*t!! a giant plant!!

*Go to location B* Oh sh*t!! space pirates!!

*Go to location C* Oh sh*t!! They're breeding metroids!!

*Go to location D* Oh sh*t!! Phazon mutated metroid!!

But then again, I don't play Metroid for the story. I play it for the exploration & the badass chick in a humanoid-shaped tank that for some odd reason can morph into a ball. Oh, & it has blood galore....just not red blood, but blood nonetheless(not that anything in Halo splatters in a satisfying way...that's what Gears of War is for).

Halo...damn I can't even begin to recap the events there...it'd take too much time. might as well write a script for a Halo movie.

Oh, & yes, it is hi def. I have a HDTV, & it plays in 1080i on my TV.

& I have yet to be called "n00b" when playing online.

Oh, but hey, thanks for calling me simple-minded......
