This video was done by WETA to show what a live action Halo movie -could- look like, since no studio will pick it up.

Yeah, these were pretty much just ads for Halo 3.

I still don't understand why the Halo movie has been canned. It just suits the big screen perfectly. It could have been the new Aliens but instead its being abandoned?! Why?!

This was an awesome representation of what a Halo movie could look like. They proved it would work, so why hasn't someone picked it up?

Man that live action brute looked awesome!

Yeah! We all know Video game movies are always 100% perfect!

This one could be. Video game movies don't have to suck. They just normally do because the writers and directors stray way to far from what made the game good. These short clips for Halo 3 prove that the movie could be done. And done well.

And I applaud Neil Blokamp for doing such a good job on the direction and cinematography in these.

Yes indeed, he gave the scenes a very realistic, saving private ryan-feel and look to them.

That's because the suits who manage IPs typically don't have a **** clue, and will let Uwe Boll make another cinematic holocaust because he'll pay them ten bux and suck them off.

This was something that Bungie had publicly expressed an absolute determination to avoid if Halo ever made it to the big screen.

So, since the Halo movie is canned, who wants to go to WETA's shop and pilfer us a working Warthog?

I'm up for it. I also want to steal all of their props and suits used for the ODST Helljumpers. Those suits are sick man.

You know, it's funny you mention that. I remember reading somewhere, I forget for the life of me where though, I think one of my ToyFare's or EGM's. But apparently WETA will be offering some of their Halo props for sale.

Would make a good Christmas present. "Hey bro you know the Helljumpers in Halo?" "Yeah those guys are awesome" "Heres one of their suits. Merry Christmas!"

Soon, hopefully.

Hugo needs him a Battle Rifle and Assault Rifle, plus a Spartan and ODST Helmet

Are you going to pick up the electronic Plasma Pistol and Plasma Rifle off of BBTS? Those things look insane.

Thank the Lord I preordered the Plasma Rifle already.

$79.99....

If I had a job, I would buy four.

It's so worth it though. The pistol just by itself is over 4 pounds of metal and plastic! I mean it's pretty much the actual weapon brought to life except it can't fire a charge. The fact that the vanes even pop open when it overheats is just freaking awesome.

For £40, I really shouldn't be able to say no.

Damn my accursed need for food and clothing!

Bah, I buy clothing once every 6 months. Just enough to look manageable. I never cared if someone saw me wear the same crap within two weeks a couple times.

I never buy clothing. I wear nothing but black clothes anyway so the same 3 or 4 shirts and trousers every week are all i need.

Id rather buy TF's than waste my money on clothes.

And it's cool, because black doesn't shows stains like lighter clothes do, so you can easily get away with a black tee two days in a row.

I really only buy jeans every year or so, but since I stopped gaining or losing weight (I only eat once or twice a day, but I never exercise, so nothing is lost or gained), and that I'm about done gaining height, I can still use pants from a year ago. (Though I prefer baggy shorts over anything, except when it's cold) And I only buy shirts if I have a few bucks I'd like to waste on something I really like. (Like that Venom shirt I got)

Even then, I really really really really really REALLY wish I had the cash for that Plasma Rifle.

Exactly! There is always a method behind my madness. :P

Yeah, a Halo movie would be awsome, if for no other reason, because Bungie is very protective of their IP & would make sure it was done right. & That right there is probably the problem. Most directors, writers, etc. are so caught up in their egos, unless they could make a movie that they could claim completely as their own creation, they wouldn't do it. They wouldn't want to make a Halo movie...they'd want to make a director/writer production.

Uwe Boll said he wanted to do the Metal Gear Solid movie,

Hideo Kojima (The Metal Gear Solid creator, for those who don't know) who happens to be a big movie buff, said "NO!"

He's a smart game maker.

Lol, yeah, dont ruin your main game franchises image by having a crappy director make a movie out of it, just slap him in a lame nintendo game instead.
