Fun fact: Microsoft had nothing to do with it. Given that it's a multiplatform release, all Microsoft had to do was supply the developer tools, just like Nintendo and Sony had to.

The company you SHOULD be blaming is EA. it was Electronic Arts' job to get the game where it needs to go. Microsoft had jack-diddily to do with it, much in the same vein that Sony and Nintendo had nothing to do with it on their consoles.

Again, Microsoft has no say in when companies decide to release their games. I'm sure Bill would LOVE to get the profits from Assassin's Creed, Force Unleashed, and GTA4 all in th same week. But if Ubisoft/LucasArts/Rockstar want to release their games later than they should be, Microsoft has no choice but to accept it.

The only time that they CAN is when Microsoft is publishing the game themselves, whihc they're NOT doing with any of the games I just mentioned.

Remember: The publisher is the one to blame, not the people who made the console.

Vista is actually really nice once you get used to the changes. Turn off User Account Control, get an anti-virus just in case, and you're pretty much set.

Probably just as well. Updates for most things are notorious for causing more headaches than they fix.

When I hit the "Off" button, Vista will install the updates it has, then shut down for the night. Just like XP did.
