I thought I'd start this topic because I love Final Fantasy VI. It's hands down, not only my favorite FF it's my favorite video game of all time. I just wanted to see what others on here think of this amazing game. I thought if would be nice for fans of the game had a thread to discuss all the great things about this game.

I remember my jaw dropped when the world blew up. I thought it really pushed the envelope and it took the game and the story to a level I wasn't expecting. I don't use strategy guides, so every twist in the plot was a big surprise to me. Easily, one of the best soundtracks of Nintendo's 16-bit wonder. My favorite characters are Locke and Sabin. Just an all around great game!

Kefka is really one of the most successful villain in the series. He took over the world, shaped himself as a God, and held it for quite some time. Sephiroth at least managed to destroy a huge city and take out Aeris, but his success was quite limited. Garland managed to loop himself through history, and his death only furthered his plans. Again, didn't last long, and the results were minor. Yu Yevon and Sin, I think, did a better job. I won't spoil it if you haven't played Final Fantasy X yet, which, if you haven't, why haven't you?

Hell yeah I've played X it's the only FF where I actually started to tear up at the end.

Kefka is a lot like Starscream. They would both rather rule a universe void of anyone than rule it at all.

For me the best part of the game is the opera on my original SNES version I still have a save file set so I can just replay the opera as many times as I want.

You know one thing I was thinking is well I mean FF VII is great and all but instead of the compilation of FF VII we should at least get a true sequel or at least an awesome CGI movie for VI that would be awesome.

I never finished X, but I did like it a lot more than other Final Fantasy games. The fact that you could actually PLAY as the Summons was nice, but also because it was a lot more turn-based, and I hated the ATB system all the other games used.

It would probably go the same way as Advent Children, with physical remnants of Kefka causing chaos, then Kefka himself coming back for a fight at the end. Considering Kefka was Sephiroth with a sense of humor (Twisted as it was), this does seem quite likely.

Although I'd like to see a CGI movie for VIII.

Actually I was thinking more like a really good CGI or just traditional animation of the original game it's self or maybe a sequel game.

This will always remain one of my favorite, if not the favorite, Final Fantasy. It was the first game I sunk over a hundred hours into. I loved the story, and it still draws me in every time I start to play it again.

In fact, the game I'm playing now (Lost Odyssey) has a point about halfway through that is reminiscent of what happens after the Floating Continent section of FFVI. I suppose it helps that the people who made the game are ex Square employees.

Well I don't remember about the other FF's with the ATB but in VI you could turn it off. God damn VI kicks ass.

I'd have to disagree VIII is least favorite FF ever followed by IX. Although my 5 Favorite FF's are in order:
1-VI
2-Tactics
3-VII
4-X
5-IV

Also has any one seen the gametrailers.com Final Fantasy Retrospectives? If you haven't go see them they're awesome.

FF VIII now there was a good game! friggen sucked at the end for me though, My first disk wouldnt let you start a new game, cuz it was so scratched up from play. then i finally get to the 4th disk and i LOSE my memory card! ohh the frustration. But i heard one guy on this site saying it took him 15 hours! to beat the last boss.

but yes this would be an AWESOME movie, even more awesome than advent children.

Didya know that FF XIII is supposed to have a chick with a gunblade?

GUNBLADE JUST LIKE SQUALL AND SEIFER!

FF VI is pretty awesome too, i havent beat it yet, but i have the emulator on my laptop,

I've only started playing it. So far it's pretty good. out of the 5 numbered FF games I've played, it stands pretty high.

FF 6 is my all-time favorite FF game. Kefka has always appealed to me as a villain and I don't doubt his character influenced my current love of all things jester-y. FF5 is a close 2nd, although I played it before the PSX compilation so I only had a partially translated emulation to play. Still a fun ride.

I was never too hot on FF7. Just didn't get into it that much, although I did play it to the end. Sadly, since I don't own nor ever have own a Playstation of any type, I haven't played past 7. I tried to play 8 on PC but could never find any to buy.
