Anyone remember Shenmue for the Dreamcast? I miss that game I wish they would finish the story on like wii or something. The original Shenmue was a work of art behind Final Fantasy VI for SNES this is my second favorite game ever. Shenmue is unlike any other game I've played. I've beaten it 4 times and I still find some thing new each time I play through it, Good Times.

Shenmue was pretty awesome.

They did come out with Shenmue 2 on the X-box. But it was quite pointless.

Considering that you couldn't transfer over data or anything like that, meant that you had to start over with a clean slate.

If only they released a collection of one and two for the X-box or something similiar.

It doesn't really matter all you could bring over were the skills you learned in the first game as all your money and kit gets robbed at the start. I had both of them on the DC and Shenmue 2 was one of the last games to be released for it in Europe. Ended up selling my DC copy of 2 for €50 and buying a second hand xbox copy for €5

It was an awesome game plus the added fact of the arcade versions of outrun and space harrier being on it. Pity the other 2-3 games that were supposed to be in the series never got made. :(

"Maybe I should buy another".

I swear Sega, are you TRYING to make me into some kind of gambler :P . I plunked down a lot of money into those capsule machines in the game, hoping to get something else cool. Then I plunked down more cash to buy chips and such for a ticket to win a big item(I remember I got Metal Sonic once). It's probably the closest thing we'll probably ever get to a big Sega nastalgia/easter egg game.

Also, the attention to detail and stuff made it really feel like a living world, and it probably is one of the most convincing games in that aspect I've ever played personally. Shame once you beat the game you couldn't "go back into it" and just spend your money and stuff for fun. I should beat the game again someday, there are probably loads of undiscovered fun and secrets I never saw.

The Saturn machine was really cool too(I never knew about it until I read about online). Wonder if Shenmue would have saved the Saturn if it had come out for the system like it was originally planned?

I absolutely love Shenmue and Shenmue II, they're two of my most favourite video games to play and I'm not usually into RPGs that aren't Pokemon. I was heart broken when they announced Shenmue III was scrapped, but I always get a bit excited when I read rumours of it being made now. I still hope it will be sometime.

Who is everyone's favorite Towns person in Yokosuka?(shenmue 1) Mine would probably be eather Tom, or Kruita-san(sorry I like using that :P ). With Tom after I've collected some tapes I like to listen to some in-game tunes and smoke a nice one, and pretend Ryo and Tom are passing one around too. ;)^
