Cheated! Cheated! Cheated!

Argh!!!

I was playing Mercenaries on Resident Evil 4, the monestary stage with Krauser. Anyway, I was up to 93 kills in a row when I entered the last door and that raging blind guy came out with his claws. Was ready for him and used my arm. He was toast... but his brother came out 5 seconds later! So I had to avoid him and that cost me getting to 100 kills! All I could muster was 96. Argh!!! 9 times out of 10 the game waits about a minute before bringing out the second guy, but not this time.

Futhermore, I held off the second blind guy and his entourage until my arm charged up again. Used the arm and was mere inches away from killing him but stopped short! So I had to keep him away with arrows and incendiary grenades, but couldn't hold everyone off and was killed. 100,000 points and still a minute left!

I hate being cheated...!

Anyone else have any painful stories of being cheated that victory?

I have a couple of RE4 cheating horror stories. In mercenaries with Hunk in the village I had enough points to get 5 stars, but I had about a minute left to go and I was low on ammo. So I head to the barn with the second floor platform that you can only get to by ladder. I wait up there for the crowd to gather, then I shoot the explosive barrel and jump down to collect the stuff they dropped. Apparently Bella sisters developed an immunity to explosions, because as soon as I hit the ground not 1.5 seconds after the barrel exploded I get decapitated.

Another time I was playing separate ways and I was being chased by a group of soldiers. I was low on health so instead of risking a fire fight I retreat to a nearby room and wait by the door with a grenade. The explosion immunity seems to have spread, my grenade landed right between the first guys feet and none of them even flinched when it blew up.

Is this on the PS2? I noticed a bug in Mercenaries where I had a flash grenade, used it, and kicked some guy's head off, but alas it didn't seem to count and my bonus in-a-row kept flashing and ran out.

This time I was actually literally cheated out of my goal!!! In RE4, I killed 90 guys, then used a flare grenade and kicked one of the ganados (automatic kill, right?). The game didn't count the kill, so I ran out at 90. I'm getting tired of these random bugs in the game.

It was on the Wii edition.

This isn't cheating. An NPC just caught you at a bad time and managed to get the drop on you. Games never play the same time twice, given that the enemies can decide for themselves, though not quite to th extent of the player.

In an case, a lot of games have adaptive AI. Enemies will actually read your actions, and find out better ways to kill you. In Metal Gear Solid, Psycho Mantis would tell you right out how you've been playing, how you'd been avoiding traps and taking out enemies.

You weren't cheated, you slipped up.

Not sure if you were talking to me or not, but when you kill a guy and the game doesn't count it, I'm not sure how AI or getting the drop on me has anything to do with it. Dead is dead, but the game didn't count it.

And if you're talking to me that's not what happened. I played through the main game about a dozen times and I unlocked everything in the GC version, so I know how the game works. Adaptive AI is one thing, but to not even fall down when you're next to an explosive that should outright kill you is game error not human error.

Those dang multi-colored alloys in Cruel Brawl in Smash Bros Brawl. I honestly don't know how they do it. Even if I'm Bowser they can hit me two times and away I go. I don't understand how they can be so tough, or how to counter them, so therefore they gotta be cheating(I know it's supposed to be tough, but still). I'd avoid that mode, but I need to KO five(ugh, there's a KO 10 challenge too isn't there?) to get a trophy. Tips would be helpful.

I didn't have this much of a problem in Melee. Sure the bots were tough, but I think I was able to take out the needed number for some kind of trophy with Roy.

Luck.

Also, fall off the edge, use a wide recovery move to hit the waiting crow. Rinse, lather repeat.
