EA announced the release date and pricing of Rock Band for Europe today.

For the privalage of getting 9 extra tracks and a release date of 23th of May, 7 months after the US we get to pay a whopping $380/€240/£180 to obtain a copy and all the instruments.

I was looking forward to getting this game, now I think Kotaku sum it up best that

Kotaku wrote:Whether it's MTV or EA behind this price, you can take that price, and you can stick it up your arse.

To put this into perspective EA are selling a mass market game aimed at casual gamers for £20/€30 less than an Xbox 360 Pro. This is the most ott price I've ever seen for a game, don't mention Steel Battalion as that was expensive due to its extremely low production run, this is over double the US price for no apparrent reason.

Now you get to choose between playing Rock Band, and having food in the house. Choose wisely!

Or, you know, buy a real guitar and an amp for that much and play that instead.

(And yes, I know £180 wouldn't buy you a great guitar and amp together. But you could get some pretty good practise stuff, or maybe an acoustic)

I too was gonna get this game. Now, they can shove it.

$380, eh? That's quite a bit for a video game. You could buy yourself two Botcon Seekers with that kinda money.

Luckily for me, this isn't my type of game.
