Well, it does have some good games:

Super Mario Sunshine
Mario Party Series
Mario Kart: Double Dash!
MegaMan Anniversary Collection
MegaMan X Collection
MegaMan X: Command Mission
Sonic Mega Collection
Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut
Sonic Adventure 2: Battle
Metroid Prime
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
Viewtiful Joe
Ultimate Spider-Man
Donkey Kongo

...just to name a few. Of course, some of those are also on the PS2 and/or X-Box.

Don't forget, the gamecube does have the correct version of Twilight Princess. Not to mention Windwaker.

I have a Gamecube (got Metroid Prime free with it) and I love it, but I don't recommend buying it unless you don't ever plan on getting a Wii (as most of you know, you can play Gamecube games on the Wii).

Twilight Princess was originally meant for the GC, so Link is still Left Handed, and the world resembles the Ocarina of Time Landscape

However for the Wii since the Wii-mote is made for right-handers, Nintendo had to switch things. So they flipped everything to accommodate.

So Hyrule for the Wii is a mirror image of what it is for the GC.

That's true.

The remake of the original Resident Evil is also excellent.

Just to add to the list:

F-Zero GX
Tales of Symphonia
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
Eternal Darkness
All the Resident Evil Games
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
Ikaruga
Soul Calibur 2
Animal Crossing

Plus many GC games I see around here are normally $20, so that's also a plus.

I also like the Gamecube, because it takes up so little space. :D And it's a game system, not a DVD player, not an online hardrive chat machine, either. :D

And if your a Star Wars fan, Rogue Squadron 2 and 3 are excellent games. Rogue 2 is slightly better in my opinion.

Rogue 3 has far too many ground missions, and I don't feel they are as "polished", but it's fun none the less. But it does have something 2 doesn't: The original three Star Wars Arcade games. The first two are Vector Graphic, and Return of the Jedi is 3/4 view sprite based avoid obstacles/shooter. And you have to put in a code for that one, no other way to unlock it  . Really, what were they thinking with that?

Forgot about that one.

Once I get even CLOSE enough to $250, I'm getting a Wii. Even if I have to trade in my Gamebube to do it!

One of THE best reasons to buy a Game Cube. If possible, though, get a Wii - you'll love it.

Metroid Pime I, II are reason enough to buy a GC.

I did. And no other games. Meteroid is that awesome.
