Is F-zero Dead?

Seriously. There hasn't been an F-zero game in like 5 years now. The DS and Wii neither have their own F-zero games. Is there any future for this series? I've been getting into the wipeout series latley just because of nintendo's lack of F-zero. Any word on any future for this series?

You've got a point. I hadn't even thought about this series in a long while but I loved GX. There is hope though. Nintendo's already blown through all their other franchises, so process of elimination Leaves F-Zero and Kirby for the Wii. Am I missing any?

Star Fox hasn't has a Wii game, and with the Wii's controls, it might work out pretty good.

F-Zero has been suspiciously silent since GP Legend. Climax didn't even come out int he US. A new F-Zero game for Wii would be entirely welcome, though. I loved GX despite all of it's flaws.

I liked GX, but damn it was hard. That was my biggest complaint.

That, and I thought the voice acting was sub-par. Those are my only complaints with it. It had great graphics and a big roster, and the tracks had designs that can't be beat. But goddamn it was hard! You know I never even beat single-player? I unlocked every racer except for the AX racers, because hard-mode is pure evil (I had to collect how many thingies at once in three laps in under thirty seconds?! Was this game designed for Superman?!)

yeah it was stupid hard. I couldn't get very far in it all. I tried to play the story mode and couldn't get past the second level. One thing I hated is in previous F-zero games hitting the wall would slow you down a bit, but it wouldn't stop you. If you hit the wall one single time in GX you would stop. That made the game damn near impossible!

I got to the part in story mode where you had to get first place on Mute City. Of course, I never got first. And every level before that took at least eight tries.

I gave up on story mode after level 3. that was difficult beyond all belief. At least in Master-level grand prix, I stood a chance.

I got to seven, meaning if I had beaten it, I'd only have two missions to go.

I remember F-Zero GX. I hated the difficult, but I did get through most of it. I think I unlocked all the characters that were in the Gamecube version, not the Arcade ones. I loved the music! I thought it was the best. Looking back at the game now, I've noticed that there is alot of gay stuff in it. No kidding, look at this:

I'd love a new F-Zero if they toned down the difficulty and had better voice acting/cutscenes, but kept the sense of speed and the cool music.

As for other games, Reggie has said Nintendo is working on new games for their titles. Let's face it, there hasn't really been any Nintendo franchise title that you could honestly say was intended for the Wii. Twilight Princess we know was a NGC game ported to the Wii. Mario Galaxy could have been put out on NGC. SSBB, heck you could put that on the DS if you really wanted. Metroid Prime 3 was exactly the same as the last 2 games, just with Wii controls. Every game on the Wii just feels like a NGC game with Wii controls shoehorned in, to me. Nothing on the system has really made me say, "Wow! Now this is a Wii game!" I hope whatever Nintendo is working on blows me away. Cause I haven't played my Wii for months. And the last game I played on it was MGS Twin Snakes FOR THE GAMECUBE!

I agree to some extent except Super Mario Galaxy actually does look quite a bit better graphically than Super Mario Sunshine on the ol' purple lunchbox. The Wii's about equal in power to the original Xbox which was quite a bit more capable than the cube. But the hardware is based off the Gamecube's. In fact it basically is a "supercharged" gamecube. has more memory and the processor is twice as fast, other than that its damn near identical. Personally I think it was a screw up on nintendo's part: Can you imagine games that were as pretty as 360 or PS3 games with the Wii controls? Lack of HD support is what sucks the most IMO. The hardware just isn't strong enough to push a 720p resolution.

I understand Nintendo's whole thought on the current generation of systems. I understand they didn't want to get into a pissing contest with Sony and MS, and wanted to offer gamers a low price and an alternative to the norm. However they still could of done that, and had better hardware. It didn't have to be to the level of MS or Sony, but say they make something thats either P4 based or Athlon based that has 1.5Ghz processor? Maybe throw some Nvidia or ATI based graphics in the thing (technically it is ATI that's in it but thats because its based off the same GPU that was in the gamecube, in which ATI had purchased the company)

I would like to know WTF Nintendo has planned for christmas season? PS3 has little big planet and Resistance 2. 360 has Fable 2 and Gears of War 2. WTF is Wii's big game this year? As of now I'm kind of done buying games for the Wii. I pretty much have every major release on the system and everything else out there doesn't interest me!

Anyway odd thing about F-zero GX is a lot of critics and gamers consider it the best F-Zero ever! I really don't. I have to hand that honor to F-Zero X on N64. In fact that was the first VC game I downloaded. Sure the graphics are ugly as sin, but the game play absolutely F****ING ROCKS!

The closest I can see to a big holiday release (Even though it's being released next week) is Castlevania Judgment.

I bought a PS3 about 2 or 3 months ago...

Haven't turned the Wii on since.

F-Zero could change that, if they left out any and all forms of R-tarded motion controls.

Why put if on Wii if it's not going to use motion controls?

The Wii has motion controls.

As far as I know, games on the system aren't required to use it.

and if that does become a requirement...we will be getting rid of the system. Motion controls are about options. Requiring them is just removing an established option.

Thats the problem with a lot of Wii games. Developers seem to feel like they HAVE to put the motion controls in, and alot of them don't offer an alternative way of playing a game. It ruins a lot of games!

Don't forget Animal Crossing and Wii Music! Honestly, I feel like Nintend doesn't really care anymore. Just give the hardcore gamers some F-zero or Starfox, we'll be fine.

I think Nintendo has lost their hardcore fanbase. It's a shame because it was the hardcore fans that kept them alive for the last 10 years, through the N64 and Gamecube days. Why hast thou forsaken thee?
