So, I received an e-mail today from Gamestop talking about what comes with the collectors edition of Street Fighter IV for either the PS3 or 360.
The game will be released on February 17th, so if you haven't ordered it, I'd suggest doing so, the stuff looks pretty sweet. Though I'm pissed that the 360 version gets chumped.
Collectors Edition Street Fighter IV
- bonus disc with a 65-minute full-length Anime movie and promotional trailers
- a CD soundtrack
- a collectible Ryu figurine(PS3 Only)
- a collectible C. Viper figurine(360 Only)
- a Udon/Prima Hint book
- 5 downloadable costumes
Plus, apparently if you preorder it at Gamestop you'll get a headband just like the one Ryu wears.
So, I'll most likely be getting this on the 360, since I have no PS3, but the game looks and continues to look absolutely amazing.

Is this the Hori or something else?

It's the high-grade one. They're releaseing 3 different sticks for the SF4 release.
$40 the standard junk Hori stick that gets released with every fighting game nowadays.
$80 Hori, similar to the T5 stick released a few years back. Great, durable stick. Perfect workhorse stick for practice and competitive play, but if it ever breaks or you want to upgrade, it's near impossible. I've got great love for this stick. I nearly destroyed my first one and it kept running just fine (until I punched it and crushed the metal housing...). My second T5 stick is 2 years and going strong.

$150 Hori: customizable, all highest quality parts, bigger casing/graphics and made with love.

So it's true. You
can buy love.
I'm hoping I can squirrel away enough for a decent SFIV setup (TV + PS3/XBox). Arcade sticks are last on my shopping list.

Unfortunately, I don't think it will make me any better at SF. However, unlike the hd turbo mix, I don't think i'm going to be able to pass up a new streetfighter.

Gotta love the Russians and their ability to sell love.
Yeah, I suck at SF, no amount of "sweet joystick of awesomeness" would be able to make me better.
Currently my tactics for SF is "hadoken, hadoken, hadoken, hadoken, shoryuken, throw, (rinse thoroughly and repeat)"

In actuality, being able to do that, without fail and being able to avoid that situation yourself, without fail, is the core of high-level play.

I could have sworn it went something like "glitch, glitch, glitch, redankulous combo string (plus or minus level 3 super taunt), glitch, glitch..."

I was gonna get it for the 360. Then saw that the PS3 gets Ryu while we get.... Some chick I've never heard nor seen before instead of Ken. Bah.

as much as i hate exclusive content (ps3 gets X but xbox gets Y)
it would have made much more sense for one to have ryu and the other ken.

Can someone that gets the game for the 360 promise to give/sell me your C.Viper figurine?
Please?
(and no...I won't trade for Ryu...but I might be able to send you a Sota Akuma figure)

In a seemingly random act of kindness, I will offer up my Ryu for CP to get C.Viper
Really I have no interest in having a lone Ryu sitting around, and even less desire to start a sf figure collection.

assuming cp hasn't already given it to someone else, we have a deal then.
when its released we can do this a number of ways. Either I can ship my ryu to cp, and he can finalize the trade or I can ship mine directly to muffin-considering all parties imo are trust worthy the latter will probably be faster.
I'll let you two decide.

Well looking at the C. Viper figurine, it's pretty obvious why they chose her for the 360 version.
All the 360 kids who put down Halo 3 long enough to look at the game will see "boobies!" and pick up the collectors edition.
On a related note, I'm ordering the collectors edition as soon as the x-mas season is over.
I'd give up C. Viper for nil, but that'd go against my ethics of breaking up a collectors edition.
and yeah, Ken and Ryu would have made, much, much more sense, especially considering the cover of the collectors edition has the both of them on the cover.

Why dont you order the European collectors edition it comes with everything the US one does, but you get BOTH figures and the box is a Chinatown diorama. Also ordered the Mad Catz tourny edition arcade stick

The box art is the same as the US version and not as shown.

Wouldn't that be a PAL coded disc? I know you can run pal demos if you have an HD tv, but im not sure about the discs...in theory it would work.

It depends, for the Xbox on whether the game is region unlocked but for the PS3 it will work as there is no region coding on any game. I've got the US Stranglehold C.E for the PS3 and it works fine on my PAL 60gb PS3.

Just to note, I canceled my preorder. Put the money down on Hot Toys' new 1/6th scale Predator figure instead.
