American McGee's Alice, the Third Person Shooter computer game released in October 2000. Set years after Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass, Alice features an older, more cynical and macabre incarnation of Alice.

Shortly after her second adventure, Alice's parents are killed in a fire of which she is the only survivor. Driven catatonic and having attempted suicide (as found in the case book), she is institutionalised in Rutledge Asylum. Years later, She is called by the White Rabbit to the aid of a radically altered Wonderland now under the despotic rule of the Queen of Hearts. The Cheshire Cat in particular now looks very different from Sir John Tenniel's original illustration: the cat is shown here as skeletally thin and his grin looks more devious than mischievous. The Cat is Alice's constant companion throughout the game, popping up now and again to guide or offer advice.
In the end, Alice defeates the Queen of Hearts and restores Wonderland to its original form. Thus, she overcomes the madness that's been drowning her since the fire. Alice finally leaving the Asylum.

A little info: A movie adaption of this game is set to be released July 07. I am looking forward to it.

LOVE this game. I was also aware of and looking forward to the movie until I found out they casted Sarah Michelle Gellar as Alice.

Aye, my friend and I were starting a comic book semi inspired by that.

But it was a retelling of the original story as a dark story.

We didn't follow through because I didn't have the time and/or patience to color each one of the pages.

I've thought about asking him if he wants to restart it, but I don't know.

It's just another thing we added to our list of unfinished projects

hey I've been there. My machinema project never got past the profile movie. That and a 2:30 minute movie took me 6 months to make thanks to Halo Noobs.

I'd completely forgotten about that game! I got a demo of it when it first came out and I seem to remember the actual game mechanic was pretty much bog-standard run and gun but yeah I agree, the whole setting and idea of it is pretty darn cool.

Well I would but I'm busy, dude. OuterStatic's next albums coming out and I need to do zeh cover...

Plus all my Vi stuff tkaes priority because I love it so much :P

Back on topic, Alice is my favourite game next to the legacy of Kain series. She, both in this game and the original stories, influenced a lot of my art.

And man that queen is awesome at the end :D
