I got oblivion a few days ago, and I want to uninstall it. but when I try to uninstall it in any way these windows pop up. First the top then the bottom.

the bottom one doesn't mean squat. I emptied the folder, I closed the programs, and checked my connection. It did nothing to help me get rid of this horrible game.

ouch. Both of those mean squat. the first one gives you program information but not much else.

one suggestion brought to my attention was the method you were using to uninstall it. Were you using the program's uninstall or the Windows Add/remove programs option in the control panel?
Did you get any of the bonus packs as well?

I downloaded the 1.2 patch, and I used both such programs. neither worked. I tried getting rid of the patch, that didn't help either.
I tried returning the game but EBgames does not take back PC games regardless of defects or condition.

You mean you didn't know?
Thats one of the problems with Oblivion. It's not that you can't uninstall it. It's that Oblivion won't let you uninstall it.
Oblivion is like Skynet, it's self-aware, though it won't show itself until you try to uninstall it.

I had that problem with a Barbie game on my computer once, I tried to use the games uninstall feature to get rid of it and found out it was possibly corrupted. So I had to go hunt for the games files in the bowels of the computer, and manually delete them one by one. It took awhile, but I got 'em all.

hmm that's odd..I've never had that problem, oblivion installed and uninstalled cleanly from my PC...
first thing you should do is a full virus scan and adware scan. I've had problems on my sisters computer when attempting to uninstall or install programs and games because of viruses getting in the way...
WARNING: the following works in XP for sure, other Windows versions I cannot guarantee that this will work.
other than that there's always the manual uninstall. delete ALL folders and files that the installer put on your computer (if you cant get them all because windows says the file is in use or whatever restart then continue the deletion process. if you still get errors the restart the computer, but before the windows "splash screen" pops up hit "F8" and choose "Safe Mode" from the list using the arrow keys and enter. then there should be a new (it's hidden normally) "administrator" account. enter that and then continue deleting the files.) once that's done goto the start menu, select "run" and type in "regedit.exe". this opens the registry fro every program installed ion your computer. browse around until you find something that should be labeled "bethesda"(SP?), or "oblivion"; delete everything you find that seems to belong to the game.
I know it sounds like alot of work, but don't get discouraged.
