Its release date is June 23rd. My birthday. Batman: Arkham Asylum is coming out on my birthday. I mean, I was already hyped, but this is a sign from the Gaming Gods.

I really hope this breaks the curse of Batman and Video games.

Meaning, there has never been a good Batman video game.

Ever.

But this looks @#$%ing amazing

My local gamestop has a demo preview of it, and while most the actual fighting is reactionary button smashing, it does take a little bit of actual skill, and it's amazingly fun to watch batman facekick someone, backflip, catch a dudes pipe and crack his knee with it before suckerpunching his face. Very VERY amusing. Looking foreward to it personally.

The demo was fun, but seemed little more than a beat-em-up. Hopefully they touch up a bunch of the visual glitches as I saw Batman kick air above a villain's head quite a few times during the closeup shots.

True, true. Theres also supposed to be parts of the game that involve finding clues, piecing together puzzles, and whatnot.. But the combat seems to be pretty straight foreward beat em up. Maybe that'll be different for the boss battles. Cause we all know batman uses gadgets to take out the big badguys.

I read an article about it and it said combat would involve hiding in rafters and observing the situation before jumping in. Like if there was a baddy with a machine gun you'd need to take him out first and disappear before the other baddies knew what happened. You actually fight like Batman, I hope they keep it that way.

Yeah that's the Predator mode where you try to eliminate all enemies without being discovered. There's also a mode where you just brawl with wave after wave of enemies. So you get both sides of the situation, as it were.
