Halo 3 Beta

After the big delay yesterday, I'm finally playing the Beta! I must say it is great! I loved Halo 1. I HATE Halo 2. But this Halo 3 Beta is really good. It feels more like Halo 1 did. Fair. And less like Halo 2. More of a game about who has the most mods, cheat, and knows the most glitches.
I can't tell you how sweet it is to play a game of VIP, where I'm the VIP and the other team keeps coming after me, but I still kill them. Lasering someone out of the air after the man-cannon'ed. Dropping a PGL infront of someone just before they kill you, and before they know it, they're dead. I could keep going, but I'd rather hear your thoughts.
If you have a 360, you must pick up a specially marked copy of Crackdown. You'll get a great game and a great beta. It has renewed my faith in Bungie. Halo 3 just might be worth the $120 Legendary edition.

I've got crackdown but no xbl gold account

. I'll get to play the beta next week though when me and my mates go to the xbl gaming centre. I can't wait until September 26 when its released(if only Nintendo would release games in Europe at the same time as the US

. WHERES MY PAPER MARIO).
As for glitches in Halo 3 you might want to look

There was only two glitches in that entire video. And they were the final two. And one doesn't even effect the gameplay. The other ones were just clever jumping. Half of which are there on purpose to give you sniper positions. As I said on gametrailers. That video fails.

Uhhh glitches in Halo 3....
Duh? It is BEta after all.
Haven't go Crackdown, so no Halo 3 Beta for me. But I've been reading up a lot about it.
The biggest thing that makes me want Halo 3 right now.
The Menu Option: Mute All
Finally no more having to hear douche-bag little kids running around singing or flinging racial slurs every which way for the sole fact that you're kicking their ass at a video game.
Not to mention, like what Muffin said, these all take more than one person to pull off, and those who try to pull these off, well we call them Targets. They're in a hugely open and unguarded position, when you know where they are, that spot becomes useless as everyone will be expecting it and take out anyone who tries it.

Am I the only one that thinks Halo is like... overrated?
And am I the only one that doesn't care so much for the whole game and can't even be arsed to get to the beta?
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed playing Halo1&2 (and for a short amount I played #1 on the pc. Which was a whole lot more fun then on the xbox. FPS on PC = win. FPS on Console = not so much) but damn all this hype around Halo3 just slowly starts to piss me off...

You are the only one. Oh master of anime Boobies I bought the X-box late in life a few months after Ninja Gaiden was released. So I got Halo at value price I didn't see what the hype was you basically go to one room shoot everything rinse and repeat. And story in 2 was laughable. This game has nothing on GoldenEye on Perfect Dark.

The reason people state the story as being horrible is because they are not getting the complete version. To truly enjoy the Halo Universe you have to read the novels. Specifically the ones by Eric Nylund. They all take place in and around the 2 and soon to be 3 games. They not only compliment the games story but add a ton of information never told in the game. I can't stress enough that people should spend the $30 and pick up all four released.
As for GE being better than Halo....No. Just no. GE was awesome in it's day. If you go back and play it now, all you'll notice is it's outdated gameplay, graphics, control scheme and weapons. If it was 1997 again I would agree with you without hesitation, but FPS have come so far since then that I cringe when someone says GE or even Doom are better than what we have today.

Then stop getting sucked into the hype. I love the Halo series. But you don't see me running out to pick up a 360 just to play the beta. If you don't let it get to you, then you won't be pissed off. Enjoy the game when it comes out and let the other spazs go nuts with the beta. That's what I do. I completely avoid and ignore any media for the game for that very reason. I'll either get excited or feel severely disapointed. So I don't look.

Didn't you stole that title from me?

Got H1 when my brother bought his xbox. Bought H2 for 20€ some months after that.
And yeah, now that you mention it, the gameplay really had little more then clearing one room/space after an other. I guess that might be a reason why all those 13year squeelers love the game so much. No thinking involved, just lots of pew pew

The reason why I'm looking forward to Halo 3 is simple. One of the reason is that it is the best FPS out there to date. Every other FPS is some WW2 fps. I don't know about you, but storming Normandy over and over again sucks.
I also love the game as a Sci-fi epic. It's been too many years since we've had a damned good Sci-fi title that isn't a Sci-fi/Horror thing. I have no clue if I explained that well enough.
The story itself may be a bit cliche. However, multiplayer is where it's at. You get 16 of your friends to play together on X-box live or through system link, without having to deal with the little douche-bags that plague X-box live, it's awesome.
Sure it doesn't have the multiplayer AI feature that perfect dark did. But it's still an awesome game.

Fixed.
Also the whole system link with 16 people sounds awesome. But at the same time that's sci-fi for me. I don't have 16 friends with a passion for halo. And online multiplayer is dull and annoying

I like Halo for it's story. And that's pretty much it. The gameplay is good, I prefer it on console more then I do on PC, though, so I guess I'm the odd man out.
The main reason I want Halo 3 is to find out what happens next in the story, much like a series of books or movies. I really didn't care for the cliffhanger, but I understand why: Cliffhangers mean that people like me who want to know what happens next, are going to shell out the $60 for the next game.
That's how trilogies seem to work nowadays. Like the Matrix Sequels, or Pirates of the Carribean.

Agreed, best FPS for consoles. I haven't delved much into the realm of PC FPS, played a little Doom, a little F.E.A.R. and was let down by how people hyped it up. Probably just means I'm desensitized.
Although I am looking forward to Shadow Run, since it can be played from both the 360 or a PC, same with Halo 3, that will be fun as hell.
Also, I didn't have 16 friends either, until I hit college. Then during one of my 3d modeling classes, we all just decided to boot up UT and play each other. Then we did Halo another night, and HAlo 2 for a party we had happen.

Whether or not you liked POTC 3 or Matrix 3, all i know is that Halo 3 will definetly not be as craptastic as those movies.
