Yeesh, that is bad. L4D isn't even scary to me at night. At all.

In Halo 1, the Flood were scary, at first. And only on my first play through, when I had no idea what was happening. (
Great level the first time around, actually) In Halo 2, they were less scary, muh less scary. By Halo 3, they were not scary, just aggravating.
I guess Zombies don't actually scare me...oh, wait.
Half-Life 2. The Zombies, while lacking any real damage dealing ability, have one unique power: They have the power to make me happy to see the Combine. Ravenholm is difficult not because you die, but because you're more that likely to say "Okay, I would like to stop playing now this level is creepy."
Ol' fashion regular Zombies are fine, if not a bit creepy, and dangerous if they gang up on you and get too close. Fast Zombies...something that looks like that, coming at you at such speed, screaming like that, creepy as hell. And the Toxic Zombies...it occurred to me recently that I've never gotten a good close-up look at a Toxic Zombie because they creep me right the hell out. Toxic Headcrabs are just as bad, they used to make me freeze up entirely. (Not so much anymore) I will actually pour explosives into an area where I know a Toxic Zombie will be simply to avoid getting close to one.
