The Next Evolution in Real Time Strategy Games: Meta-Time?

A couple days ago I found out about a strategy game that literally blew my mind; and no, it wasn't Starcraft 2. It's called Achron and apparently is in late alpha stages. What makes this game unique is that at any point in the game you can go backwards in time to manage things again (and again, and again) that you might not have done right, or in response to your opponent meddling back in time as well.

Need a specific building? Go back 30 seconds and have it built. Being attacked in the past? Go to the present, build a few units and send them back in time to help before the changes propagate to the present.

This game may not be the most visually appealing, but I think it'll advance the way we think of gaming.

Don't believe me? Check out a couple short youtube demos.

Is there a limit to how much time travelling can be done?

I could see that getting very annoying very quickly. I'll give them credit though, it's something new and different but I can't really see it taking off.

well, the further back you go, the more energy it takes to give out commands, so it's limiting in that sense. I'm very interested to see how well it'll all turn out. It may not get all that popular, and playing against someone who actually knows what they're doing would be insane. Maybe it's all about the media advertising it.

"Time" will tell I suppose.

Are there DeLorean units?

A very interesting looking games, but I'll never play it. Mainly because my PC is **** and probably can't even play solitaire.

I'm not sure If I see this as an advantage. Besides, most games have a rewind feature already. It's called the quicksave-quickload.
