How about a Transformers version of KOTOR 2?

Exactly as the title suggests, I think it'd be cool if they would make a TF version of KOTOR 2. You could play as a made-up Autobot leader with the word Prime in it, but you could choose the first name. It would be new continuity, with many references to older characters. Your team would be little-known Autobots, and you would meet other, more popular characters along the way, with only a few members being 'Classic' characters.

I would be Longarm Prime.

Your allies could be:

Atton Rand=Bumper
Kreia=Flamewar (a female Autobot who later betrays you)
T3-M4=Mini-Con Sparkplug
Bao-Dur=Ratchet
Handmaiden=Flareup (an eager Autobot who wants to meet her heroes, such as Optimus Prime or Ironhide)
Visas Marr=Override
Mira=Chromia

Did I miss any? Anyway, I think that would be really awesome. You could transform into whatever you want, by scanning vehicles along the way. You may change vehicles to better suit your surroundings. Your friends would have fixed vehicle modes, but you could change at will. When you get higher ranked, you can have advanced abilities such as becoming a Triple Changer or a Pretender (useful when going into a human city on earth).

Any opinions? Ideas? Give it to me.

HK-47, the Mandalore, Mical, G0-T0, and Hanharr.

Also, why KOTOR 2? Why not KOTOR 1? KOTOR 1 was the superior game after all.

Well, I somehow got KOTOR 2 first, and I've always liked it better simply because it was mine first. Although, you are right, KOTOR 1 is good.

Okay.

HK-47=Devcon
Mandalore=Drift (tee hee :) )
Mical (would that be Disciple?)=Tap-Out
G0-T0= ;) ;) Perceptor (yes, he's another character who used to serve Optimus. He'd be similar to AHM Perceptor - a deadly sniper)
Hanharr=Broadside (he wasn't on very many episodes of G1)

Also, if we're going for KOTOR 1, then the characters would be:

Trask=Scrounge ;) ;) ;) (the guy destined to die)
Carth=Sideswipe
Mission=Arcee
Zaalbar=Grimlock
Bastila=Firestar
Juhani=Moonracer
Jolee=Kup
T3-M4=Roller
HK-47=Devcon
Canderous=Drift

Is that everyone? As you can see, for AOTOC 1(Autobots of the Old Cybertron), I used more common Autobot characters. If it was for KOTOR 1, then it would happen during the Great War, and you could choose between Optimus Prime, Rodimus Prime, or Ultra Magnus. Malak would be Megatron. His apprentice (the dude who killed Trask) would be Starscream. The Sith Academy on Korriban would be the Decepticon Academy on Jungle Planet. You could not change forms at will on this game.

AOTOC 2 would be the sequel, and then you'd have the aforementioned characters. It would take place after the Great War, and many war heroes, such as Ironhide, have died long ago. Your character (Longarm Prime for me) would find out about a Decepticon uprising and desperately try to contact Optimus Prime. As he went along, he'd meet Bumblebee, Mirage, and many other Classic G1 characters. In the end, Longarm Prime (or the character of your choosing) would battle Flamewar, the Decepticon who started the uprising. Sad that he'd trusted Flamewar, the character would try not to kill her at first, but would resign to killing her when Ratchet is injured. Darth Nihilous would be Shockwave, the only Decepticon alive after the Great War.

Oh, yeah. The Ebon Hawk would be the Ark.

What do you think of that? If you can think of a better title than AOTOC, then feel free to do so.

Who's Trask? I don't remember anyone by that name, least of all someone who died. Unless it was the name you gave Revan? But then Revan isn't confirmed dead, so...

Also, it'd be more appropriate if Canderous and the Mandalore got essentially the same 'bot.

Trask is the guy on the firt leve of the game. He's the one who tells you what to do when you first start. You know, the guy who dies on the first level - the prologue. He is your roommate?

Also, why would they be the same? Just wondering, but - are they the same guy? If so, then Canderous is changed to Drift.

Oh yeah, You could just make him any random Autobot, he's just a Redshirt.

Yes, actually. Canderous Ordo is Mandalore the Preserver.

Everyone shortens it to KotOR, because it's easier to type than the full title. In fact, this is done with most games. WoW, FF#, MGS, TF2, KoF, KotOR, GTA, UT, and so on. Getting used to acronyms is required in gaming.

Wow, I never knew they were the same! Does it mention that in the dialogue? If it does, then no wonder I missed it. After playing through the first time (and skipping a lot of dialogue), I found that the game stopped working. :(

Oh, well. But as for Trask being a Redshirt, I think it would be funny for him to be Scrounge! After all, this little gold bot always dies!

So, other than that, is it a good idea? Are there any suggestions? Comments? Questions? Im here any time.

Skipping the dialogue? That's like getting a cupcake, but scraping off the icing.

Well, for starters, you'd have to code in transformation, seeing as how running someone down with a truck is a far cry from Force Powers. You'll also have to create new models...for pretty much everything. You'll need to write new dialogue, record new voices, build multiple menus, probably redesign most environments, create new weapons...in essence you'd have to recreate most of the game. And this is no small feat.

The reason behind skipping most dialogue is because when I got it, I was like 9, so I had no patience for those sort of things. However, I would listen to it now.

Also, yes, it would take a while (and a lot of money) to do this, but I'd love it. Transformation wouldn't be difficult, the game would be modified so that you could transform at will, just like most other TF games. Another thing to note is the fact that if this game were real, it would allow you the ability to scan different vehicles at will. Obviously, you don't want to be a racecar inside a spaceship (the first level of KOTOR 1), you'd be a motorcycle or some other small vehicle! And in a city populated with humans, you wouldn't want to be a tank or alien vehicle! Another thing is, as you go along, you'd be able to become a Triple Changer (in 2, since Optimus, Rodimus, ect. aren't Triple Changers).

But all of that WOULD be difficult. You can't just push a button to have the game allow for transformation, you have to code everything. Speed, handling, hitbox, and transforming back and forth, reformatting. Since KOTOR2 never had any vehicles outside of the swoop bike, you have to code all of that from scratch.

Thinking up the concept, that's the easy part. Actually doing it is a lot of work.

How about a kickass Bioware Transformers video game?
