NES problems

I need some help with my NES, I took the darn thing apart and cleaned the pin connector, that made it work for about a two hours, after that it went back to the blinking screen thing. out of all of the nintendo home systems that I have in my collection, this one simply refuses to work! should I replace the connector or is there a way to fix it without having to wait for a new connector to show up in the mail? If there are any other video game nerds here, help would be appreciated.

I've always been told that if you replace the pins, a nintendo is good as new. its just the pins that gett screwed up from jamming a cartridge in there.

otherwise it's a nintendo. jiggle the cartridge, see if you need to push it extra far down or not all the way down, yell, scream, threaten the thing, then say screw it and download an emulator for the pc :P

well, i was really hoping that i wouldn't have to open the darn thing again. i really didn't want to go through the trouble of replacing a part. been putting this off for about a year now. oh well, gonna order the pin connector sometime this weekend off the 1nt0rw3bz. just can't stand seeing the thing in pieces. it's weird.

about the modding thing NAME_VIOLATION, i dont't really want to risk breaking my only NES right now. I have the toploader too but it's graphics aren't as good. I was thinking of getting another original model NES and getting doubledealer_25 to help me repaint it (never had any kind of luck with modifying anything but pcs).

And skyfire77, i found something similar to that after I looked at the same process at a different site but while it would solve my problem, I just don't want to risk destroying something like this. I have no experience with electronics, circuit boards, or modding anything. I know I probably sound like a chicken but, these things have gone up in price where I live.
but thanks for pointing this out, when I get another NES, I am gonna mod the hell out of it and this is something I want to add. thanks for finding the tutorial.

Oh and sorry i haven't been checking this thread, school here is really frustrating when you miss a solid week.
