Allright, I got into these games over thanks giving, and I want to know if anyone has played them, and how are they? Cuz I want to buy both games (when I have the money) and I think im kind of becoming obsessed!? not that much, but Im finding myself wanting the game more and more each day! I really want resistance 2. I have the demo for FOM, and thats how I became a fan of this game series. Also, when Im playing the demo, I cant help but think of "Precious Cargo" from the TF ROTF score. It matches. Also, the thing that sealed my fandom was the Leviathan in R2, that thing is frekn awsum!

I had the first one when I first bought my PS3. It was alright but it didn't really hold my attention very well. Some other game came out around the same time and pretty much forgot about Resistance and traded it in shortly after. I never even bothered finishing the game. I'll admit that the trailer for the second one looked amazing. Once I can find both of them used and at a decent price I'll probably give them another shot.

They are both awesome. I have both. They are great games. You should get them both when you can. Resistance Fall Of Man is harder. They have healthy online communities thankfully. Online multiplayer is great. :D I love Chimiera.

The first one was okay, but it wasn't anything great. It had some fun moments, but otherwise it was just an average FPS. I haven't played the second one, though, so it may be better.

They are awesome!
The first one takes some time to pick up but gets better and better and once you've completed it on normal, you have to play it on hard, trust me the Chimera act very very differently and you'll get sweet new weapons.

R2 looks awesome and does have a really awesome story and well is pretty awesome save for the fact that you can only carry 2 weapons now, roughly 50% less bullets in a magazine and less ammunition you can carry around, that makes the game more "realistic" yea cos in a game that takes place in an alternate dimension full of evil human eating aliens you definitely need realism.
But it's a shame the Leviathan goes down so fast once you battle him.

Do you need to actually finish the first game to unederstand wbat happens in the second one? I kind of wished that I hadn't traded the first one in, but I needed the cextra cash at the time.

Its kind of weird now that the Playstation controllers feel sort of odd to me now. With the last generation of consoles my PS2 was king of the household. I still played my original Xbox at the time, but my hands were so used to the Playstation controller that the Xbox one felt kind of foreign. Now I've been playing my 360 most of the time so I'm used to its controller.

If I could have used my 360 controller for Resistance I probably would have enjoyed it more. I never tried out multiplayer since I was the only one of my frieds with a PS3, and I absolutely hate playing with people I don't know (thanks to all of the racist six year olds on Xbox Live that claim to do very wrong thins to my mother every night)

Not really. The only character to be carried over is Hale although it does directly connect to the final scene of the first game. All you need to know about the first game's story is the basic setting of
Aliens try to pwn world, already pwned Europe but now started to pwn the US too.
And that Hale has been infected with the virus and that he's awesome.
But you learn all that in R2.

The controls are very different from the first one akin more towards FEAR than Resistance, yes you can change the control settings but not to the exact same as the first game.

Also the off-line multilayer for Resistance 2 sucks ass well nowadays all off-line multi-player modes suck.

You can play Resistance 1 multi-player off-line too all you need is another controller for your friend, you can actually play the full story mode (max 2 players) and a vs mode (I think 4 or maybe even more players).

Oh and I would consider it awesome to meet those kids in a game, they always have the best reactions to getting killed in-game.
