i know this is a little off topic, considering this is a transformers forum, but i hit a snag with my video game collection. all of the other good games, are crazy rare and cost a fortune. im at a crossroads. do I keep saving 100+ dollars to buy the rare, playable games, or do I just splurge thirty dollars every now and then and get a TON of crappy games? If any of you guys could help, I would really appreciate it. I just figured that since you guys collect transformers, you might be able to give some tips for my collection.

Why have a bunch of crappy games? It's like friend-whoring on FB. How many of them do you really talk to? Quality any and every day of the week.

Quality. It's why I only buy about 5\6 games a year at the most. This year is going to be interesting for me, with Dragon Quest IX, Golden Sun III and Sonic 4 all arriving, but its an odditity that I look forward to so much in one year.

If you find that you don't keep coming back for more with a game, then you're better off just selling it and putting the funds somewhere else - especially if the is rare and worth money. Rarity and price don't always equal the quality of a game - take SonicCD, for example - rare, but also feeble when compared to the more abundant Sonic3 or Sonic1.

I'm confused by what you're saying. You're using the words "rare" and "playable" as if they're mutually inclusive. Good games aren't hard to find, and if you know where to look, they're not expensive either.

The answer to your question: Both. You don't want a library full of junk, but if you know what you're looking for, you can have a nice big library without spending an arm and a leg.

shadowman, i have to say that your point has been proven several times. it just doesn't get past my thick skull :BANG_HEAD: ! thanks for the suggestions guys. maybe now i can get out of my rut and breach the 300 mark! me and doubledealer25 (or decepticon25, i don't know which it is now) have been competing with our collections and he keeps getting more and more transformers! he has me beat! i think i'm gonna improve my atari collection, there are a lot of games I don't have. (I NEED pitfall!) I only hope that I get a stable job after school is done, then the collection will skyrocket!
