Finally played Metal Gear Solid 4

I bought a PS3 recently and finally dug into Metal Gear Solid 4.

Truly an amazing game. I'm so glad and shocked that I managed to avoid spoilers for this long! Ironically, I will gush about spoilers.

I was having fun with the first two acts, really fun action levels. When Big Mama appears in Act III, my jaw just hit the floor because of all the reveals. It was a real rollercoaster from then on for me.

Hell, going back to Shadow Moses Island and piloting Rex was a huge treat. It obviously hits nostalgia but I loved they recreated every little detail of that level from Cyborg Ninja's hallway massacre to Liquid's HIND.

I love how it tried to connect almost every MGS supporting character with this game. I don't know if Kojima always intended things like Sigint being the DARPA Chief but it's still cool.

I might go back to explore Metal Gear Solid 2, I've only played it once compared to the multiple times I've played the others.

That game is truely going to be one of the best games to come out on the PS3. let alone one of the best games of all time along with its predecessors.

I loved the flashbacks that the game had. Going back to Shadow Moses was amazing, definetly tied the the series together. Im amazed you haven't beed spoiled on all the story of the game so far.

I hope for a 5th but i don't think it will happend.

In a world where people can come back as clones or cyborg ninjas, I'm sure they can find a way to bring back Solid Snake if they really wanted.

That said, I'm still interested in the MGS: Rising game along with the PSP games.

And I still need to pick up the original NES games.

Do yourself a favor and get MGS3 Subsistence. You get ports of the MSX versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. The NES games are a bad joke by comparison.

I'd rather see the original Metal Gear Solid be remade and re-released on PS3 along with the NES Metal Gear games.

MGS 5 would be a flash back game for sure.

I'd hate it if they did that. It would completely ruin the end of MGS4 if they brought Snake back for one more adventure.

On the other hand, the Patriots may be gone, but Otacon pointed out that the blueprints for Metal Gear were sold on the black market by Ocelot, and now anyone can have their own walking nuclear abomination. If they do continue the series, it'd be better to A) Retire the "Solid" title in the franchise, and B) Involve Meryl, Johnny and Raiden leading the new FOXHOUND dealing with Anti-Metal Gear operations.
