Hence why the remakes should be based off of Platinum, since that was specifically designed to undo a lot of the problems Diamond and Pearl had, especially in regards to the undersized Pokedex.

And Cynthia is worth revisiting...

True, haven't played it, but have heard great things about it, unfortunately, you can't undo the shite pokemon they made for that gen - and there are oh so many of them.

If they increased the BST's by a significant amount, then I'd be totally open to that, I loved a lot of those pokemon aesthetically, but, man, they're stats are just rancid trash

Just gonna leave this here, one of my favorite things from Sun and Moon (an admittedly short list)

For being a dancing palm tree/bundle of nerves he seems to have so much personality :x

On another note, been trying to get deep in the battle tree (super doubles) and Celesteela is an absolute beast, he's so good with a leech seed/toxic stall set; pair him with eviolite clefairy so he can get double seeds up and he doesn't go anywhere, helps that his typing is so tremendous. Gonna try and work aurora veil ninetales + z-electric terrain xurkitree into the team since clefairy and mega slowbro weren't carrying their weight by the 36th battle :(

I managed to get hold of Ultra Sun today, I've cleared the Trainer School and my team is Litten (Shere Khan), Magnemite (Polaris) and a temporary Yungoos (Mr President). So far I don't like how it's essentially just Sun and Moon again with a couple of new characters and scenes every so often, I would have preferred a proper sequel like Black and White 2. However I am looking forward to the post-game where you fight all of the past generation's villains.

Just found this forum today, lol. Dose anyone recommend the new Pokémon games? The last poke game I played was X and I want to get into a new Pokemon game, and was thinking of going for ultra sun or moon since I have a card code for ash's Pikachu (great new movie by the way). Also how hard is it to transfer pokes from X to the new games? I need to start my advancer with a charmander and a Mew. (I've been trading online since diamond & pearl for mews and have at least 6 lv 10 - 20)

I'd say definitely pick up a Generation 7 game, it doesn't really matter which one because they're all more or less the same experience, though Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon has a different ending from what I can tell. But yeah, the original Sun and Moon are fantastic, much better than X and Y in my opinion.
To transfer Pokemon from Generation 6, you need to download a separate app for your 3DS, PokeBank, but once you have that it's fairly straightforward, you just put your Generation 6 Pokemon in the PokeBank, then put a Generation 7 cartridge into your 3DS and transfer your Pokemon into that. The app isn't free, but it's not expensive either.

So that Pokemon Presents. I'm going to give my thoughts but first a bit of background.
I got into Pokemon around the release of Diamond/Pearl (although Platinum was out by the time I got around to it IIRC), mostly because all the kids in school were talking about how great Pokemon is and I had finally gotten a DS. I was hopelessly addicted, Pokemon was literally all I did in terms of video games for a good while. This continued through Black 2 White 2, and by XY I had mellowed out a lot on Pokemon.

And then when I was roughly 13 I hit the "I'm a grownup now I don't play with that kiddie stuff" phase and traded in all my games (basically every game from gen 4 and gen 5) into gamestop. I deeply regret this decision.

I got Alpha Sapphire and thought it was okay. Very okay.

I really like Sun/Moon and Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon (I own all four of those games I basically bought the same game four times what's wrong with me).

I was initially very excited for Sword/Shield but got less and less excited as launch approached and the details of the reduced pokedex and such came out. So much to the point that I bought Digimon Cyber Sleuth Complete Edition at launch instead of Pokemon. I got Shield a couple months later Pre-owned, and I think it's alright. Doesn't feel like that much of an improvement over the 3DS games in really any aspect except for the wild area and Pokemon camp (both of which are pretty barebones for what they could be). The DLC, while overpriced, was pretty good. Wish the Pokemon following speed was just tied to the player's speed (and then they went into their ball when you got on your bike like HGSS) instead of just being the camp walking speeds, no pokemon follows you at a good speed and have to teleport to keep up.

And all this time since gen 7 I was waiting for DP remakes. I was so hyped for them. Here's my reaction to Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl (the items special to Dialga and Palkia are literally called "Adamant Diamond" and "Lustrous Pearl" You had better titles right there what are you doing)

Real talk I think it looks fine. I'm a bit upset every other remake (with the exception of Let's go) got the treatment of being rendered in the graphics of the generation they were remade in but Diamond and Pearl get this but at least they seem to be faithful remakes (perhaps too faithful in some respects) and they didn't shove dynamaxing or go catching mechanics into Sinnoh I guess. I might pick up Beautiful Diamond (since Diamond was my first game) but I'm definitely not excited enough to necessitate buying it at launch.

This though. This I am excited for. It looks like Pokemon Breath of the Wild. I don't know why they couldn't have just done the Sinnoh Remakes in this style instead of this but I'm not complaining. I got a new Sinnoh adventure, it looks like they're trying something different for once, and it's not arbitrarily split into two versions. There's more than a bit of jank here but they've got a year until launch they'll probably iron it out by then (I say probably because Sword and Shield felt more than a bit rushed and had it's fair share of crust).
