No one knows, but it will probably play just the same as all the other next gen versions it just wont look as amazing. It will still look as good as any recent PS2 game would though, i mean it can only look as good as the other TF game on the PS2.

You're in the same situation as me. Don't wanna buy a new gen console, and you shouldn't have to.

The game is identical on PS2, aside from some pretty terrbile graphics (in comparison). You'll see what I mean.
Also the game will probably lag much as it strains to push the machine to cope.

Nothing much. Aside from that, we're just waiting for bugs and crap like that.

Nothing hugely damaging, accept PS3 info on the game as PS2 info too (unless otherwise stated of course)

so the only major difference will be the graphics?

Look, the graphics on Gran Turismo 4 were next-gen quality, THREE YEARS AGO! If PS2 can do that, it can do anything.

Yup. I'm going on the screenshots that were released with the scans of the two pages from the PS2 Offical Magazine that was around here at one point. The grahpics are hugely simplified, but theyre not compeltely ugly. If graphics don't bother you, this'll be nothing to worry about. The only thing that bothers me - which even then is a tiny niggle - will be the lagging when you have multiple bots bashing eachother and the same time and bits going everywhere.

Hehehe, not quite my dear. The PS2 has had it. God Of War 2 showed us that it can do no more. Its still a great system but as far as graphics go its time has come.

Sooner or later developers are going to completely stop making games for the PS2 and focus on the new systems that allow them to make better games. So whether you like it or not, your gonna need to invest in one of the new systems. Go for the 360 if ya do since the PS3 is a waste of money and has no good games and costs too much and has a bunch of crap in it that you dont need.

I remember when I had the NES and then the SNES came out. Even though I was impressed by Super Mario World and Final Fight, I was thinking that I was satisfied with the NES and didn't want to get a next-gen system.

Well, Street Fighter II Turbo quickly changed my mind.

I'm probably getting a Wii pretty soon. Is it coming out for that? :???:

And so the Console Wars continue...

I'm pretty sure it is, it's out for the DS so I guess so. Would be interested to see how it works with the wii-mote. Guess you'll have more control over where you throw the squishy earthling's vehicles :P

It'd probably us the Gamecube or Classic Controller.

But with the Wiimote it's be cool, too.

It'll look just as bad as the PS2 version, and that silly control gimmick wont make much difference to the gameplay.

Hence why there are Normal Controllers available, like Classic Controller, or the Gamecube Controller.

But think, you'd swing the Wiimote to swing a pole, or swing an arm, pushing a button if you wish to grab something. Then, transforming, you'd turn the Wiimote to the side to drive a car, or use both the Wiimote and maybe the Nuchuk attachment for guys like Starscream, Megatron, and Blackout.

The more I think about this, the more stoked I am.

The silyl control gimmick of the Wii has never impressed me and i see no point to it. Id rather have a powerful next gen gaming system with a 5 year life span than an old 5 year old system with a new controller, which isnt innovative either.

Wait, I can refine that:

One button would make both hands grasp. Swing one half of the nunchuck for one hand, and the other for the other hand. Push the button mid-swing to grab the object, or hold it before the swing to make a fist to punch.

Swing BOTH to do a grab attack.

If you're character has a gun, standard Light Gun gameplay applys. Moving the Wiimote aims the gun, moving the stick on the other part turns and moves the character. For thing's like Jazz's sword, swing the Wiimote to swing the sword.

Seriously, Traveler's Tales, I'm between jobs.

Or just use a perfectly tried and tested control scheme which works better anyway and just sit in the comfort of your arm chair instead of swinging your arms about for hours with a stupid control set up for an inferior looking and playing game thanks to the system you are playing it on's lack of any processing power and play the 360 version. Or if you are a rich idiot, the PS3 version. :P

Resistance is an average, by the numbers FPS that doesnt even have good graphics. MGS4 and all the other Sony "exclusive" are likely to go multiplatform like all the others have since the PS3 is doing so badly. Besides MGS4 was the only game in your list i have any interest in which is rumoured to go to the 360 soon anyway.

360 has more and better games, and even more superior exclusives and lets not forget about XBL.

S'ok if you like pointless gimmicks i suppose. Gimmicks whose straps break sending the controller flying toward you expensive lcd tv and smashing it.

Hardly. Many cases were pure fact, especially considering the amount of complaints nintendo recieved which forced them to redesign the strap to be thicker.

They was mearly using the system as advertised, as hyped, as sold. And it broke and resulted in expensive damages and law suits. Thats innovative i suppose.... :P
