I just rented this game. I played the demo, so I knew going into it what it was like. But I liked the demo! The actual game is total ****! It's like Resident Evil, GTA, and Majora's Mask. 3 of my favourite games, but where those games were great, this totally screws it up. The controls are frustrating at best. The whole weapon inventory thing is stupid. The save system is extremely annoying. The whole game is just retarded.

Like if you can pick up a gun, then why can't carry additional ammo without picking up another whole gun? And then the other tedius and annoying stuff like you have to take pictures of everything. Or when you find survivors, you have tell them to follow you and then you gotta protect there asses while they walk into walls b/c their AI is lower than the zombies! All while you walk half way across the mall to the stupid secutiy room. I've even had a survivor beat me to death while he was trying to kill a zombie. And there are no save points after any of the chapters, so if you die and didn't go half an hour out of your way to save in a toilet, your screwed and have to start all over again!

And then there's the stupid **** janitor Otis! He calls you constantly! I just wanna scream at him, "I'm surrounded by thousands of zombies, and I can't attack them b/c I'm on the phone with you b/c you had to tell me about the guy jerking off in the womens clothing store! And then when I get killed by the zombies while I'm talking to you, you call me back and bitch at for hanging up on you!" If I could ever get back to that stupid security room, I would kill that mother ****!

I really don't know why this game has stayed on top of the list for so long. Too many little kids with no time on their hands? I'm just glad I didn't buy it!

see i bought this game, same thing liked a demo of it and thought, killing zombies cant be that far away from fun........

just couldnt get into it at all, i waitied a while and traded it in to get C&C3.

I messed around with the demo version a bit and deemed it unworthy of my time. By the sound of it, i'm glad I left it on the shelves

The idea was great but the game suck and the worst there is no autosave in the game or checkpoints. That's the reason I resale it.

Sounds like you just suck at the game. I found it easy to play once you learn how to use the save system. It isnt liek other pussy games that let you save whenever you want, this one actually forces you to think and complete objectives on time because the story is so dependant on the time.

Once you level up your character a bit he can carry more weapons and food items to restore health.

The game is highly rated by every major game site, so it doesnt suck.

I have gone through the game twice now and its a blast every time i play it. I leveled my character up to his max level and killing zombies in so many different ways has never been so much fun.

Yes i agree the AI is dumber than Bush, the save system is flawed but you can work with it, Otis is annoying and the controls are a bit unresponsive at times but them and all the other factors dont ruin one of the best on most innovative and interesting games out for the 360.

Try looking up some online strategy guides, or just visit a rest room once in a while.

This wasn't a horrible game. It did have many flaws, but once you adapted to the game's strengths, you develop an instant blood lust. I found myself replaying this game, because the higher the levels you reach, the stronger your attacks get.

If you didn't want to follow the story line, you could just mess around in the mall all day long and not follow a single mission.

It could have gone many ways, seeing as this game was meant to be more like Final Fight and less like Resident Evil. The end result is a fun game, but far from worst game ever.

Agreed, I actually liked the game quite a bit. I don't know the game just made me smile.

I dont' have a 360, but the game looked nifty. My friend said it was dumb though.

Ok, so if taken as a serious game, it's probably not that great. But is it at least stupid fun, with lots of chances for experimentation? The ability to wield any weapon and hack through waves of zombies is the reason why I would want to play anyway, though that could get boring I suppose. Still, every now and then a little hack n' slashin is good for everyone.

Yeah its not meant to be taken seriously, i mean one of the bosses is a clown for a start! Its very campy, very colorful and thats what makes it cool.

Its stupid, almost endless fun, and i literally laughed out loud with some of the stupid things i did to the zombies. Not everything in the mall is meant to be used as a weapon and some things are there just for laughs.

The game has the feel of a B-Movie. The acting is day-time soap opera bad and the the ability to wear a dress (because you can go into stores and just put about anything on) is a sure sign that this game shouldn't be taken seriously.

Heh, dead rising on the PS2? It would make the machine blow up with the amount of number crunching and graphical power the game pushes out.

The PS3 is that bad BTW. It has no good exclusive games, costs too much, has inferior processing and graphical power to the 360 and a stupid controller.

The PS1 and 2 were awesome systems but Sony really messed up with the PS3.

Look up the official technical specifications my friend, you will see the PS3 is less powerful than the 360. The 360 has more memory and RAM for graphics, everything the PS3 can do the 360 can do slightly better the only thing the PS3 can do slightly better is stream data faster due to the cell processor but i havnt really seen this in action much since most of the so called "triple a" PS3 games coming out towards the end of the year all have horrid frame rates so far, just like all ports of pc and 360 games the system has, they all have inferior graphics and worse frame rates.

I'm sorry, but this game isn't the worst crap ever. (Jaws Unleashed is much much worse) but it is still disappointing. Poorly designed controls, idiotic AI, ridiculous save system (having to restart the game 30 times to get your character powerful enough to get through the story does not make a fun game. It's made more cheaply difficult by the layout of the mall. (They couldn't bust down that damned gate to get into the rest of the mall?!) This is an easy 4 of 10.
