You know, I was just thinking about something like this. I was wondering what they could do to save Sonic, Megaman, and the other old 2D game characters that never made the jump from 3D as gracefully as say Mario or Link. I thought a nice open-world/GTA-style game set in a big city would be good for Sonic. I mean how else can you make a Sonic game, a game that should be all about speed, and not have it boil down to either an on-rails or racing style game?

No, no it wont. J/K. Seriously, it couldn't hurt. I'm still trying to figure out what's wrong with the franchise to begin with. Granted the last Sonic game I played was Sonic and the Secret Rings ( total garbage if you ask me), I would love to see a game like Sonic Adventure come back. Hell, give me another 2D Sonic.

Yeah, Sonic hasn't been doing so hot lately. People are saying the new games are either not enough about speed, not not enough about Sonic himself.

And whenever they actually succeed at making a game about Sonic and speed, it's total trash.

Sony crushed Sega because Sega couldn't keep up. Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 weren't enough to stand against Metal Gear Solid and Devil May Cry.

So maybe a sandbox game or an RPG might help. I'd buy both, actually. But I'd buy a lot of things.

Didn't Sega get bought out by someone else?

This game will be pretty cool. I mean, it'll justify having a bazillion characters AND it will finally bring Sonic into the realm of RPG's like Mario and Megaman did a while back.

I also think that a free-roaming, mission-based game is what both Sonic and Megaman need. Maybe if they fixed the controls on Sonic a bit and they added a lock-on system to Megaman, it could work wonders. But, we're just dreaming. That could happen, but not for a while.

Maybe it will kill him...
I mean, mario is dead because they started abusing him, like Megaman. Try to count the game featuring these two!

What, recently? They just released MegaMan ZX this year, and it's sequel is coming soon. Also, MegaMan Starforce, and the Battle Network games ended last year.

Mario has Super Mario Strikers for Gamecube and Wii, Super Smash Bros. Brawl is coming out, Super Paper Mario just came out, and Super Mario Galaxies is set to come out soon, and they're FINALLY preparing Super Mario 128.

Mario isn't dead, that's impossible. Mario made gaming "Cool" and modernized games as we know it.

As for MegaMan, I'm still waiting for X9 and Legends 3.

Sigh....I was afraid something like this would happen...I guess Sega must really be outta ideas if they're gonna try pulling off someting like that. Although, Sonic Adventure was RPG-ish...kinda....sorta...about 27%....Okay...not quite that much.

Oh, who am I kidding? I need a DS!

If they can make this game even half as good as Super Mario RPG for the SNES then it will get my interest. Of course I still need a DS first.
