Anybody interested in a MIB Takara Overlord? $650 including shipping takes it.

Isn't that a little bit steep? I've seen a loose/complete japanese Overlord for $200 recently on Ebay and a boxed one (euro or not) normally scores between $250-350...

It's a bit steep, yeah. But as that's the price the local hobby shop's asking (and I know a bunch of people want this figure), I'd see if anyone wanted it. The actual cost is about 600. Shipping from Japan's the other 50.

Last year, I sold mine for $400 (not on eBay). It was Flawless and MIB. Just a sample sale, for you to gauge the value.

Just so we're clear, are you asking that I don't offer to sell rare TF figures I see during my travels, at cost, because they cost more than you sold yours for?

No. you completely missed my point. No need to be snotty. I was simply mentioning how much one went for. Trying to help out. Wouldn't want anyone to pay more than they need to. Outside of MISB, you wouldn't find one in better condition than the one I sold for. So $650 is quite a stretch, is all I'm saying. That local hobby shop is asking too much.

Agreed. You should try haggling with the shop owner to see how low he would go. Use the example HighPrime provided stating that he's asking too much.

Everyone has good points here, but we have to remember one thing: This is Professor Smooth's thread and whatever price he puts on the item (regardless of how he gets it) is the price that stands.

Haggling with him, and nitpicking his thread is tasteless and classless. So you either bought or sold one at a cheaper price? So happy for you. From what I can tell, he's providing a service and making no profit off of it. He's trying to get it out to those who've been clamoring for such an item for years and years.

He goes and offers it, and all he's met with is opposition? Doesn't seem to be fair in my book.

Now, if you can prove he's scalping it, or making some profit off of it that could be considered obscene, then by all means do what you want. Until then, perhaps we shouldn't be so quick to jump the gun and start pointing out errors in people and their posts.

*sighs*

We're a community here people. Online of course, but a community nonetheless. Let's start acting like one, please?

You also missed the point... and who even hinted that he is scalping? Yes, it's his thread, but no one was trashing him, personally, for the price. For my part, I was simply giving supporting facts for a claim another member made regarding the price. I was only trying to help and show that this shop is asking far too much. It might even help others who are interested in an Overlord so that they don't overpay. That's all. Great, he found a rare TF. It's appreciated.

Yeah, nobody is trashing Smooth for what he is doing. We're trashing the Japanese guy for selling it for such a high price.

I was just making a suggestion on how to get the Japanese guy to lower the price.

Need a pic for that price!

OverLord is on my rarities list, wow me and maybe we can talk.
