Ebay horror stories

So last week I found a pretty cool auction on ebay. It was eight G1 Mini Transformers, Ultra Magnus cab and a vintage carrying case. I was game so I bid about 45 bucks and won! The seller shipped them to me, I got them, and started transforming them right away at my kitchen table. Luckily my wife was at work.

Then I flipped up Bumblebee's head, and it was a resculpted Reissue Bumblebee face looking at me. A quick Google search proved that I had been sold reissued TFs in place of authentic G1 bots (except for Seaspray and Cosmos).

The buyer advertised his 7 day return policy, which I would use if necessary. I contacted him and told him what I found. He confirmed my suspicions and then blamed me for not asking! I told him he was responsible for all information to his listing and being at fault for not fully disclosing what he was selling. I asked him what he thought about issueing a partial refund to make things fair and he started childishly calling me names on my feedback page!

Long story short, I opened a case with ebay, explained what happened, and they decided that I was due a full refund. He bitterly and continually yelled throughout the entire process until he couldn't do any more. Twice I had to have his feedback removed from my profile.

Anyhoo, things worked out. I returned the bots and just today found another auction for authentic 12 mini bots and paid ten dollars less! :) woohoo!

anyone else have ebay horror stories like that? I wonder if anyone else has had someone passing off reissued TFs as originals.

I prefer the updated reissues to the G1 originals anyway, but I understand your point. I bet if it was a face to face transaction without the security of being behind a computer the person would not have behaved so childishly.

I bought a Character Options Imperial Dalek figure and that was FOUR WEEKS AGO tomorrow. The seller has not returned my emails, and I've sent a dispute claim to both eBay and Paypal. They're taking their sweet ass time as well. I HOPE I get something out of this. And I had my hopes up on getting this because it was only $10 with $6 shipping, and in the states.

And also, because I am forced to get my figures from UK or Japan (typical North American figures SUCK)and am forced to deal with eBay mostly and LOOK at what these blood-sucking sellers want for these. And these are just Daleks, you outta see what the other Dr. Who figures go for.

Check these out:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Doctor-SDCC-SUPREME ... 2eacc93dfd <----This one's for a LOOSE Dalek.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Dead-Planet-Classic ... 563bf63c9f <---- It's not rare, you goit!

http://cgi.ebay.com/DOCTOR-DR-CLASSIC-D ... 3a5a683d7c <--- This set is NOT worth $91....and he's soooooooo generous.....buy it now's a WHOLE dollar less!

http://cgi.ebay.com/DOCTOR-DR-CLASSIC-P ... 35a8c8f1c5 <---This is for ONE.

http://cgi.ebay.com/FOUR-Planet-Daleks- ... 563bf8ddfc <---- And look how much for a group. If that's not cutting one's throat, what is?

http://cgi.ebay.com/Doctor-classic-Gene ... 20b0b0f3ea <---- For one, again

I've saved the best for last.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Set-THREE-5-Genesis ... 563bf8e864 <----For three.....this is practically extortion.

You know how in The Simpsons, that jackass called Comic Book guy has his comic/sci-fi store, and the fat jerk sells his stuff at crazy, inflated prices, and pretty much gets away with it cause he's the only one in town? It's like that in America with UK and Japan figures...and in my own town here, a redneck town in the middle of farm land Michigan, we only have ONE hobby shop.....and the old robber that owns it pretty much sells his stuff for three times the price, and he gets away with it cause he's the only shop in town. And having no conventions and anime shops MILES away from me, I'm stuck.

You fellows in the UK don't know how good you have it. :) :) :) :)

I'd have mashed his balls flat with a wooden mallet.
