eBay Buyers beware!

So, I was wandering through the virtual aisles of eBay, when I stumbled onto this "deal". I found a Transformers Universe 25 yrs. Masterpiece Skywarp (NIP) listed for starting bid at $39.99. Imagine my surprise when I clicked the link, started reviewing the listing, and noticed that there is some bad knock-off non-transforming robot pictured inside the Masterpiece Skywarp's packaging! What's even more WTF about this is that the seller has it listed as "Brand New"!

Since I'm tired of ppl out there ripping us off with knock-offs, etc. I promptly contacted eBay about this & (supposedly) the seller/item is under review.

Has anyone here ever seen this kind of problem/issue/etc on eBay before? I'm not sure about some ppl that shop eBay, but as for me, I like to see a pic of a package's contents that match what is supposed to be in the package.

Here's a link to the selling item:

For someone with 100% feedback and a trusted seller rating, this was pretty low.

They said it was $60.00 at Wal-Mart, and we all know that isn't true, any more.

They can clearly see that the robot inside is not the one on the packaging.

This is a con, plain and simple. They know exactly what they're doing and in their desperation to make a buck, they decided to try fraud.

Oh, and that's a M.A.R.S. robot, btw. There's no way it's a bootleg, or a packaging error, etc. The seller repackaged the wrong item on purpose.

If I may play Devil's advocate, there may be a non-sinister explanation. The item itself was clearly re-packaged by somone and returned to a store. The seller may have gotten this as part of a bulk purchase and simply thrown it up on eBay without examining it.

That said, it's pretty sloppy of the seller to not notice this, and just plain criminal of the scum that did the re-packaging.
