Optimus is a retool of Motormaster. ;)

i'm sure after all of the limbs are released… It will be much more clear who the intended mold was. As is, I'm pretty sure that is a repainted vortex. Maybe that off road vehicle will be swindle??? Hmmm.

During energon we only got two different molds for limbs, so this is still definitely a step up. I still hope someone — even if it is a third-party — put out a decent slingshot. He always stuck out of the crowd. I think recoloring some other teams limb is still a better option than

It looks like Hasbro is still doing a decent job, even with budget restraints, plus the fact that these have to hold up and connect…which means having to simplify and strengthen the designs. They're still not too bad.

The repaint potential is amazing, as well. I'd be down for a full set of autobot cars.

I can also see how they might use the connector ports to allow for a trailer that combines with a repainted Optimus prime. The whole thing is set up to work. That gives me hope.

Kinda sad to say the only one of these figures NOT a buy on sight for me is Optimus. Not really liking the mold but the rest are darn near perfect

You know, I just realized that Hasbro could repaint the new Stunticons as Autobots like in the G1 episode Masquerade! They already have Optimus, they could repaint Brakdown as Sideswipe, Wildrider as Windcharger, Dragstrip as Mirage, and Dead End as Jazz! That would be an awesome way to make me buy repaints with new heads!

His name is, actually, Offroad.

I think Alpha Bravo is more suited for a Blades repaint. I'm fine with Swindle being different looking, as long as they give him a personality filled head.

But, should they remold him into Vortex, I'd hope they remold the nosecone into a combat helicopter.

Same. The mold is perfect for Motormaster though, the small head, the big fists and the proportions just work perfectly for him.

People are growing a hissy fit over Alpha Bravo being a chopper and not a jet, imagine the responses when you turn Blades, a chopper, into a jet

Oh heck, I meant Alpha Bravo. Dunno why I got the name Firefly stapled to that figure in my head. :???:

Oh, and the hand/feet gimmick, really clever and cool looking.

they look good, though im probably going to get an extra Firefly and repaint him to be Slingshot. I get that these are going off IDW but I really want the G1 teams

I would be surprised if one of the other jets wasn't recoloured into slingshot for an exclusive at one point.

Here's a question, will the legends/accessories be interchangeable like the limbs? Just thought then when I realised that black Jack would fit prime :)

I'm hoping that, if/when Takara releases these, some extra paint details on Optimus Prime will really make him pop. As it is with the Hasbro release, you can spot several "lazy" areas that are meant to have some red paint covering large sections of gray plastic, especially when you look at the vehicle mode. The lower torso could use some touching up in robot mode as well. I'm not crazy about the head sculpt either. It's a little small, and I'm not a fan of the "check bones" they added in Optimus' mouth plate. I doubt Takara would change the head sculpt, though.

Why put those two limbs in bold in the "Accessories Class"? There's no reason to. :?

Two reasons:

(1) You want all of the combiners to have essentially the same set of gimmicks, and you want to keep a range of Legion Class figs out there, but like Superion, Bruticus and Defensor lack anything comparable to Blackjack to be the basis for a gimmick, so you have to get a bit creative. (Piranacon and Devastator, however, have this one in the bag.)

(2) Personally, I never could stand having a Highway Patrol Motorcycle be the same size as a Huey Iroquois, or an armored jeep be the same size as a space shuttle. Granted, the size disparity between Blastoff and any of the Combaticons is comically bad, but Swindle just really rubs it into your face. Having Swindle and Groove be smaller mitigates that somewhat, and, frankly, having an arms dealer turn into a gun just sounds awesome.

I get the size difference bothering you but at the same time there's been tonnes of examples of bikes being the same size as bigger vehicles look at chromia and windblade. Sizes have never bothered hasbro

[quote="Seibertron"]Late on Friday afternoon, Hasbro shared new official images of six figures from the highly anticipated Generations COMBINER WARS, which should start hitting online and brick-and-mortar retailers starting in December. This set of images includes robot mode, vehicle mode, and in-package images of the following figures: Optimus Prime, Silverbolt, Firefly, Skydive, Alpha Bravo and Dragstrip. This is the first time that we've seen in-package images of the Deluxe Class figures. While the packaging of the Voyagers sport a sharp looking black and red color scheme, the Deluxe Class figures each sport a very nice piece of artwork. Check out the images below or click on any of the images to view a larger version. Enjoy!

Optimus looks good in both modes in these pics compared to the ones we have seen before. I am not a fan of the Optimus box art?

And while I like Silverbolt in my opinion the universe version that came out several years ago looks better. Maybe he's just mis-transformed because he looks nothing like his box art.

Well, I was talking about what I would do if I were Hasbro, not what Hasbro would say if they were me.

And to be fair, Chromia doesn't turn into any recognizable motorcycle, so there's no reason not to think that she's in scale with Windblade.

You have stumbled upon something that will change my perspective of Swindle forever. And it is for the better!

Plus, having a pocket-sized Swindle would be adorable and awesome. Could make a new trend out of it. Where once was the pocket square, now lies the pocket Swindle.

i cant be 100%, but it looks like the box art is original, while the cards they come with is art recycled from the mobile card game. which isnt a negative, cause theres some amazing art in that game.
