well, putting the two Megatrons side by side, the first thing I can say is I want to swap those shin pieces - unpainted grey on silver G1 Megs, and painted the same silver as G1 Megs on Armada Megatron... In fact they're kind of as out of place here as they are on the G1 version. And by G1 version I mean the other 2015 Tank Megatron release. Not the old gunformer.

If I get really bored I might try removing some pins...

Other than that, I really like the colour palette in use, the vibrant purple really contrasts with the muted military green, though I would have like the red pieces to be a little deeper red (similar to G1 Megatron) as they are now, they're an orangey red. However, I don't know the original character design/toy, so this might be the "correct" colour to have used.

Headsculpt is cool, great multi-level detail, face size is a little smaller than G1 Megatron, and a little more "in scale" in my opinion. G1 Megatron's head was just a little too big, by maybe 10-15% to me.

Great release, not worth the $95 I bought G1 Megs from Toyworld at, but for $69 (or $79? I don't remember) I thought I'd give him a shot.

Meh.

It's not the worst thing ever, but not something very thrilling either.
I'm not sure this was a good reuse of the Jetfire mold. Doesn't really suit the seeker form in robot mode, the wings are too different from how they normally are on seekers.

I really don't like that deceptibrand on his right shoulder. Just looks like they had no idea where to put that so just picked a random spot.

What? I'm a little bit confused as to what you mean "remolded into a cartoon accurate Skyfire". It would seem a little silly releasing 2 figures of the same character in the same line from the same base mold only a year apart. Both the Classics and Generations versions of him are pretty close to the cartoon version of him. Really, the main thing either of them would need is a different thruster pack. Jetfire's head without the battle mask is an almost perfect representation of Skyfire. Jetfire even has that weird window that was on the bottom of Skyfire's jet mode. Sure an MP Skyfire would be nice but it would have to be HUGE.

I imagine this would work better with Motormaster and gray limbs, but Wave 2 hasn't arrived where I am:

Ay. Like him. But if I recall correctly that figure had a bunch of design problems and QC issues.

Yeah, I noted that when I was hunting through threads for him (because I couldn't remember his name).

I did not realize just how close the Legends figure was to Leader Thundercracker, it looks really good. Maybe we'll see the Legends mold retooled into Jetfire?

Doubtful since the Legends mold is 100% Seeker while the remolded Leader mold is only about 60-70% Seeker. They'd be better making a new mold for a Legends Jetfire.

I think they could get away with it if they use a new head and maybe, maybe, replace the null rays with a booster pack. Jetfire has been a repaint of quite a few Decepticons over the years.

Except the Classics voyager scales nicely with the new Legends class... Is a Legends Jetfire really needed? After 4 uses of the Seeker mold for Seekers, a retool seems unnecessary.

I have a thing for small Transformers. I don't have a problem with the same characters being released across different size classes.

I don't have s problem with that either... But tiny Jetfire is weird,

Then again, if Powerglide could get an ultra class fig...

Does legends RotF Jetfire count as a tiny Jetfire? :P

I agree though it would be nice to have a cast of characters in the new legends size; scale be darned!

Methinks it'd have been more effective to post a tiny Jetfire that actually looked like Jetfire:

Thanks to fellow Seibertronian, AzT, we now know that Leader Class Armada Megatron is currently in stock on TRU.com and it's currently priced at $44.99. What's odd, though, is that he's packed in a case with G1 Megatron and the G1 version is nowhere to be found on the site at this current time. (We will keep you updated and notify everyone if and when his order page becomes available or goes live.)

You can click on the image below to be taken to the order page:

When you're done ordering, come on back and check out our galleries of both versions of this Leader Class figure and share your thoughts with us!

Keep your optics tuned to Seibertron.com for the latest in news and updates, plus the best galleries around!
