Most of us feel they are awesome, because they were different at the time, they are sea creatures. with good transformations.

They look better combined than most other Gestalts.

And each one like any scramble type bot, can be am arm or a leg (accept Snap Trap), and also a Targetmaster weapon for Piranhacon. Yes, each has a sort of gun mode third mode, that allows them to be his gun. That's damn sweet in itself.

Also there are stand so you can either display them in a swimming type pose, or you can have them in their alterate gun modes displayed.

It is quite a cool thing indeed.

I like the colors, albeitthe bright yellow is a bit much, but I can think how it would be worse too. Quite cool.

Seawing was always my favourite of the set:

Skalor is a close second, mainly because he is so damn cute in beast mode :x

How could you not like a coelocanth Transformer? It may very well be one of the most original alt modes in TF history.

Hmm. I'll have to ponder this for a while. I like the separate bots, but the combiner is a bit meh. But of course I don't have to put them together if I don't want.

When I know a price I'll see if I can't plead with someone to get me a set.

Next post about how Hasbro sucks and who tries to pollute this thread with that nonsense will receive a warning.

I would like to point out saying that someone doesn't like this news or the seacons as exclusives is a fair response given the discussion. It is unfair to punish people simply because you don't agree with them.

The fact is i am sure many people like myself would have rather seen other exclusives brought to light rather than some shabby old G1 repaints.

Some of you like it, great for you, whoopie! It doesn't mean we all have to, or that we have to shut up about it. One post saying you aren't happy is fine, I haven't seen anyone going on and on about it post after post after post.

Be a little more open to people disagreeing, there's nothing wrong with it, and no one has been rude in the thread.

I don't think he means you can't disagree. It's just that some people start swearing over toys.

It doesn't seem that way.

On topic, I'm glad some people are happy, but if the Club had a hard time with Airrazor and Astrotrain, these will be even harder to sell I'll bet, and they'll probably be ridiculously expensive like all their exclusives.

Is there anything that people around here won't be negative about? Personally I'm planning on picking up two sets as this is what I like to do with all my gestalts, they just look great with the individual bots displayed in front of their combined mode. Now assuming (and until TCC give us some pictures it's not exactly confirmed) that these are in the unreleased Universe colours that were supposedly already manufactured the main question for me is should I think of them as G2 Seacons or get them some Autobot logos and let them switch sides (this is what I'm planning to do with the KO Predacons along with some repainting to add more white to that set overall, Savanahbots anybody?). Not sure that those colours really say Autobot to me so G2 shelf seems more likely at the moment.

Quick note to anyone complaining about them being 'member only' items is that we don't know that yet. Practically everything in the Club's store also gets listed with a non member price so while it would probably work out about the same to buy them as a non member as it would to take out a membership and get the discount it doesn't mean that anyone is forcing you to join. Personally I find it worthwhile being a member and that's despite the additional costs incurred by my being on the far side of the Atlantic. Supporting the club means that we do get things that simply wouldn't be done at retail. Are they more expensive as exclusives? Yes, that's a given. The alternative is simply not getting these things at all though. For someone living in the States $40 a year is a small price to pay. That's the equivalent of less than GB50p a week. I give more than that to beggers pretty much every time I walk through a city centre.

I still have a complete Piranacon in a box in my parents' attic.

Glad these are finally seeing a release, mostly for Skowl's sake. Colours are a bit meh to my taste and there's no way I'd be able to fork out the cash for them anyway, but hope it makes a few fans happy.

Nope.

All the uncalled for negativity is actually starting to get to me a little.

No pleading needed, assuming you pay the price and shipping. Unless we are limited, then there might need to be some pleading.

Excellent news! This and Menasor are my favorite Scramble City combiners; I love the new schemes, save those yellow hands. (lol) This is a definite must-buy. I wanna mix-n-match him with the original and God Neptune.

....... Can we get a repainted Abominus too?

I'd be glad to help people out as well, for at-cost+shipping. Now if only someone would do the same for Alt. Rodimus for me*nudge nudge*

Well depending on the exact price of them when they're released, I too may have to do some pleading. Or demanding. Whatever works.

In all honesty, I really doubt they would be any more than what they were set to be at retail, which I would guess to be somewhere around $40, if nothing else for one simple reason:

IIRC they have a warehouse literally filled with these suckers. These were intended for Wal-Mart after all, & I doubt they made too small a sum of them. My guess is they'll go cheap, & be available for a long time.

Not only that, but it wouldn't suprise me if this is simply to tide a few collectors over untill they can actually find a *real* home (IE major retailer) for the set, possibly during the next Universe/Classics 2.0 line, at which time they would be made available to everybody....just club members would get a leg up on the competition.
Though this part is purely speculation.....

On the Hasbro tour, on the marketing station I think, The question was asked if they did have a warehouse full of them. The guy laughed and said, "no. We only actually produced a few prototypes, but we are working with the club to get some sort of release for it."

:?

This could get very, very ugly, lol.

I bet they sell out the day they're released.

As for getting them... I'll prolly ask for a set for christmas(assuming the total[including club fee] is more or less $100); MAYBE(and that a BIG maybe) I'll get a set sooner with my own money, but only if it's really cheap(doubtful).

I can't say I'm bowled-over by the Seacons, so whatever the case I'm not going to stress over it or rush to buy a set. It would be a completely different story though, if it were Abominus(one can dream...).

Well it still $80.00 plus shipping and handlng because if you figure that you have to pay $40 for the set plus $40 club membership. But I'm guess after seeing the club exlusive it will be more like a $140 plus shipping and handling. But whos to say one way or the other maybe all the attention these figures are getting they just might get a release during classics 2.0. You never can tell what hasbro will do maybe they just thought that there wasn't enuff a market out there for these figure, but if 119 posts is any indication I think there might just be a market for these figures after all.

I stand corrected. Well, perhaps it will still be fairly cheap, but then again, given what the relative cost of the set would probably be at retail (which I would assume $30-40 given the general pricing of the various Bruticus repaints in the last few years) & club exclusive inflation gauged by other releases, which is generally marked-up 3X over retail.....

My guess it the set will be somewhere between $90 & $120....

.....plus club membership fee, unless you're already a member like me......

Being in Australia, I'll bet it'll probably be cheaper just to fork out for the more expensive non-members price rather than pay the US $90 plus the members price, I just hope it ain't to expensive and that it don't sell out instantly.

Our strong dollar will help alot.

I can't wait for the Seacons. I'd pay $Texas for what's basically a G1 exclusive.
