TRU Japan has all of the March Transformers releases (including Encore God Fire Convoy) moved to April 2 so it isn't a huge delay.

It seems like a LOT of TFs are being released in April, including regular Legends, the semi-crowd funded Fort Max/Sixshot recolours, Vadertron and... anything else?

Grand Max and Greatshot are still scheduled for March unless something changes. March releases were supposed to be those two, Encore GF Convoy, that pile of Legends, some Movie the Best guys, and Darth Vader because Takara Tomy hates our wallets. But with all of these delays it isn't particularly helpful.

Indeed. Usually, they are rather good for Japanese wallets, as they release around the 25th of each month, which you probably know is pay day in Japan. You live in Japan, right?

Not even close, but I've been taking part in their pop culture for over 25 years now so I'm aware of that. A lot of companies do have their big releases at the end of the month, but TT tends to spread them out just a little bit which makes lumping so many big money releases together very confusing. There aren't any mid March holidays that would have made releasing stuff difficult so I really don't know what their plan was.

Exactly. I'm worried that I'm going to be skint during March/April...

Seeing how their solicits post-March/April are primarily Hasbro toys, I think this is some final parting dash to get things out before some kind of business arrangement takes effect. This doesn't explain Shadow Panther, I know :)

Video Review and Comparison of Takara Tomy Transformers Legends LG-60 Overlord

Coming to us once again from fellow Seibertronian and reviewer, chuckdawg1999, we have a video review of Takara Tomy's just-released take on Overlord from the Legends line! Chuck gives us a look at all the features exclusive to the Takara version - including a few molding differences to add his classic Powermaster-y details, some color differences, and certainly not least the addition of a second Titan Master figure - plus a comparison to Hasbro's Titans Return version.

Check out the video below, and let us know your own thoughts on the figure and its differences in the Energon Pub too. And of course as always, stay tuned to Seibertron.com for all the Transformer news and reviews you could ever need or want!

When Takara first announced their version of Overlord, expectations were high, I feel Takara met and exceeded those expectations. The deco is top notch and the double Headmasters are a nice touch but for me, the icing on the cake is the inclusion of new molded detail in the chest, representing the original engines of Mega and Giga. Takara Legends Overlord is probably the best version of Overlord we're going to get outside of a Masterpiece figure.

Man, I think I preffer the Hasbro version. I really love those tampos on the jet mode and I do not like how ghastly the faces are on the takara version.

i prefer the silver face on the hasbro one better myself but i also like the fake powermasters in the chest on the takara one gives it a more complete look :-?

Personally, I think Takara could have just given us two Powermaster figures using the engine blocks on the existing figures, and used a faux "POTP" block with a face on it for the head. Probably cheaper than the existing features and more G1 accurate.

However, I like this fan-made combined mode that I found on the internet:

It's been reported that the retooled chest flaps on Legends Overlord actually attach securely to the tank in the combined vehicle mode, enabling one to pick up the combined form by the jet and shake it around a bit gently without the tank detaching from the jet. That is a huge improvement over the loose connection made between the Hasbro Overlord's chest flaps and tank.

I noticed some things with Overlord and Blitzwing:

- Overlord has got a vestigal joint just before his crotch plate (under his abdomen). It seems to be missing a part that would clip in and move up and down.

- Blitzwing's feet, and the rear lower leg covers scrape easily against each other, due to a lack of clearance. I suspect this is because in the Hasbro version, both of these parts are not painted?

So are the fake engines actually glued in there or just wedged in super tight? I get that he didnt want to damage the toy to find out. But somebodys gotta do it. I got a feeling they are similar to the pink thing that comes with POTP starscream and the paint made them tight as hell to remove.

There are pictures here earlier in that show them, plus the mod to remove them, clip them and attach them to the backs of the Headmaster figures.
