I had another great day at Target

Image

The scorponok is good, very enjoyable. I really like it, and am super glad I got 2 of him! I need to take a new group shot with all of the Terror/Preda-cons.

Primal-master is cool, he makes a nice beefy gun. I need to pair him up with mainline Primal.

Mirage is neat enough, I am glad to finally have a representation of him on the shelf, as he was the last of the main characters that I did not have a toy of until now.

Beast Mode Bumblebee rang up at $15.99, so very glad with that. I was a bit deceived, I really thought he had knees and hips at least. His only articulation is the shoulders, one way elbows, and the head. That said, he is neat, and I am enjoying him for the gimmick toy he is. I think i will get Prime to go with him.

The sounds effects are kinda addicting to set off too

Beast Bee for 16$US?!

Damn, I'd buy that horrible, horrible thing too if it was cheaper than a deluxe.

Hasbro Reveals Animatronic Optimus Primal with a Video and You Can Buy it Now

Hasbro has not really done big reveals for the actual Rise of the Beasts toyline. That's because the design team working on it is not the one we know of, it is a team separate from Mark, Evan and the other designers that work on the generations brands, and that team is not located at Hasbro HQ in Pawtucket. Which is why it's quite a change of pace to see BMac reveal the latest toy from that toyline in a new video. It is Animatronic Optimus Primal and in the video we can see how it functions.

Not only is this toy revealed today, but it is also available as of today.
Here is the Amazon link where it is available for $125 USD: https://www.amazon.com/Transformers-TRA ... 136&sr=8-1

Enjoy!

Too bad that he's so, so expensive.

I'll bid my time and see if some sale comes up.

Well, dang, have another one.

Yolopark made a licenced model kit of RotB Primal in bot mode.

Appart for that big BUCKET on the back of the truck, mainline voyager Optimus is good. REALLY GOOD. he's fun to pose, he feels right in hand, he's fun to transform, and he's just full of details that BEG to be painted.

He'll be worth the effort.

While I know it's easy to buy select Transformers on line I still hold out the hope of finding certain ones in a store. Got lucky today and found Studio Series 98, Cheetor. A big thanks from a tip from another site and went to that Walmart (Springfield, MO) this morning and found two on the shelf. Happy to finally have him in the collection.

Here's a thought having watched another review of Voyager Prime. Since what we call the mainline is referred to as "Core" by Hasbro, could this be causing confusion among store buyers as to what they're actually ordering?

Video Review Round Up for Newly Released Rise of the Beast Toys

The Rise of the Beasts line has become almost untennable to properly report in depth since all the toys from various waves are coming out all at once resulting in fans from different states and countries seeing different toys from the same line on the shelf. Recent-ish releases (so past 2 weeks), at least for brick and mortar include the following in the US:

Studio Series Battletrap and Cheetor at Walmart
Jada ROTB vehicles at Walmart
The Nitro Series at Kohl's (those are the Bumblebee movie reissues/redecos)
Weaponizer Scorponok at Target
Battle Changer Mirage at Target
Beast Mode Bumblebee at Target
Battle Master Primal found in US

If you have seen those on shelves and are wondering if they are worth getting, we have some video reviews for you below. And we also have a review for the Animatronic Primal. Enjoy!

Since I recently found out about a certain character making an appearance in this movie, I do wonder if Hasbro will address such a large character? I am curious now to see how that plays out in live action and hope to see the movie in a couple weeks.

That said, I still can't make heads or tails of what's available fir this movie subline. lol
So far the only solid Bot I'm liking is Battletrap. Don't really have an opinion on the any of them until I actually see the movie and how they're portrayed, but visually that's the only design that I've liked of what I've seen. Mirage could be a neat alt mode if it's done properly in either Deluxe/Voyager class, but I'm still not sure about his personality as I don't much care for the actor voicing him. On the positive side I have heard good things regarding Mirage. I've never cared for the 77 Camaro Bee so I don't ever plan to get any versions, particularly with that sad sack looking face.

Curious to see how a DLX Arcee might turn out but I'm guessing a possible reuse of SS85.

New Takara Exclusive Mainline Giant Optimus Primal Toy is Selling out Quick

PostPosted: Wed May 31, 2023 2:23 pm

Takara has a history of doing exclusive toys for their kid centric lines, which collectors will gravitate to. We saw that in the RID 2015 line with their giant Optimus toys and in the Bumblebee line with the big Evasion Mode Optimus and now in the mainline Rise of the Beasts line with a giant Optimus Primal toy, filled with gimmicks and interaction points with other toys. This newly revealed Optimus Prime is 12 inches tall, so not made to scale with anything, and it has several 5 mm holes across the figure to integrate the beast alliance battle masters, like Cheetor, Rhinox and Skullcruncher. He also has shoulder missiles and pop out forearm guns, reminiscent of the gimmicks on the original Optimus Primal toy.

While it is a Takara exclusive product, so designed by Takara and meant for distribution in Japan, it is being imported for western fans. It is already sold out on Hasbro Pulse, where it was first revealed, but it is still available on Bigbadtoystore where you can get it for $61.99 USD https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/ ... 241551?o=1

Let us know what you think about this new toy and if you would add it to your collection.

If customs can be avoided, it will be worth it.
