I dropped my BBTS pre-order because I heard Toy Dojo had them in stock and I had no clue when Big Bad would get them in. Can't wait to get the set.

Nuh uh. Siege Ultra Magnus's inner robot head is unique to Siege Voyager Optimus's head. The two molds share zero parts.

bruticus24484 wrote:As far as star convoy having OG convoy inside, it's really silly to me because he will be the fourth minor variation of this design in this line alone. G1 optimus is my favorite character and I am honestly getting sick of him.
Star Convoy is not coming in the Siege line. It's either coming in the Legends line or in some all new line. It's a TakaraTomy-initiated figure made without Hasbro's input, completely unrelated to Siege.

The head is exactly the same but whatever, I don't really care.

And so I guess you mean takara won't be doing galaxy mode then okay, glad we are clear on that because i heard with the unification deal takara couldn't offer alternate decks without doing an entirely new figure which would would mean both galaxy modes would have to look exactly the same but no galaxy mode means no sweat.

Seriously I came here to talk toys but apparently policing language and arguing semantics are more important here. My bad, I though this was a fansite. Thank you for the clarification,

For now.

The heads are not the same. As JelZe Goldrabbit already pointed out, the heads are constructed differently with each having a different method for which the halves of each head are connected together. Were they each the same head then their construction would be identical, not different.

No, Takara releases the Siege line too, but they also have the Legends line, which is a separate line that they release on their own without Hasbro's input.

I'm sorry if you we made feel overwhelmed by our attempts to help you to better understand which products Takara is putting out and such. That wasn't our intention. We simply wish to help you to know which lines have which products and that certain similar-looking items aren't the same mold, as things like that can be very misleading and we wouldn't want to see such confusion befall our fellow fan.

Takara is releasing the same products as Hasbro in the Siege line, but are also doing their own thing with the Legends line. Siege has the Voyager Optimus and the Galaxy Upgrade Optimus, while the new Star Convoy is either coming in Legends or in some new line altogether. And Japan is getting all of them (as far as we can tell), but not in the same line.

But to get back on topic, Legends is what this particular thread is for, while Siege has its own thread, so any discussion of Voyager and Galaxy Upgrade Optimus would go in there, rather than here. :D

really not a fan of that star convoy (especially inner Optimus) and I need more of that mold like I need a hole in the head. But looking forward to the other two.

But Snap Trap doesn't have visor eyes, he has normal eyes.

And the sword looks wrong to be Piranacon's.

Also, thanks to the text, we now know that these are not Legends toys after all but are instead part of a TakaraTomy Generations Selects line (as opposed to Hasbro's Generations Selects line).

Definitely! And it looks like the other (Snap Trap, maybe?) is possibly a retool of Hun Garr? The silhouette of the legs look like they could be. And the pieces hanging off his wrists? :-?

So, with Star Convoy and friends being TakaraTomy Generations Selects figures, I guess the word about the Big Powered set being the high note finale to the Legends toyline might be true after all.

true :(

it would have needed more than just minor retooling (and even then it still wouldnt be motorised or be compatible with the siege micromasters, maybe a MP star convoy some day...hell, if third party wants to scale one to MP hotrod my wallet might say no, but my heart would say yes)

New Video Review of Takara Tomy Transformers Legends Big Powered Set

PostPosted: Mon Apr 08, 2019 3:29 pm
by ZeroWolf
Thanks to the dedication of fellow Seibertron user and YouTube transformers reviewer, Chuckdawg1999 has done a review of the recently released Takara Tomy Transformers Legends Big Powered set! The set contains the three Powered Masters that were the heroes of Transformers Zone, which was a Japanese only installment of the franchise, which had its story told through a short Original Video Animation and through story pages in TV magazines.

The three toys are extensive retools of toys released during Titans Returns (Dai Atlas was Sky Shadow, Sonic Bomber was Misfire, Road fire was Twin Twist). Part of the retooling was done to allow them to combine like the original toys.

Check out Chuckdawg1999's review below (embedded for your convenience) and see what he has to say about this release.

Chuckdawg1999 wrote:The Big Powered gift set from the Takara Legends line features three HEAVILY retooled Titans Return figures reimagined into Dai Atlas, Roadfire, and Sonicbomber. All three figures feature a "Base" mode and can combine together like the legendary G1 toy. If you don't have an interest in the Japanese history of G1 this might be a pass, but for the rest of us, this set is a must-have.
