Very rare are those who would buy a two pack of the EXACT SAME TOY.

That's the purpose of an army builder. Who would want only one Sweep? Perhaps if they release SS Cyclonus Armada. That would be passable as a lone release.

Interesting.
But those are clearly aimed at collectors and not for a wide release. :-?

I wonder how those sets would fare if they weren't limited exclusives?

Well Hasbro have released three packs of GI Joe figures for mass retail. One "main" character, alongside two army building troopers. They sell relatively well. I have seen shops that stock NECA Foot Soldiers, selling faster than the other figures. Boss Fight Studios even commented on their social media, that the Toad Troopers are the best sellers of the Bucky line. Wherein no one ever buys them singularly.

That is the whole point of army builders. You couldn't have an effective display, for example, with Shredder commanding a single Foot Soldier.

I sware, that Sweep and Scourge reminds me of the "Adopt a 100 Year Old Man" Dana Carvey bit.

I look at it and I shrug. I just can't do it. The price is too much for what was nothing more than a glorified grunt that was written off after season 3. A different hand won't do it either. Same would go for Gnaw, who I would only buy one of. This isn't like the seeker trio as they were actually different characters. The sweeps hardly had any personality to them for being Insecticon replacements.

Your opinion is valid, but that is an ice cold take. Army builders are either a thing you're into or not.

For my part, I'm onlyv planning to get to, because I don't have enough space for a full-on battle display, and I don't like having a bunch of the same character standing around in static poses. Since I got a second Cyclonus, I can do a Unicron reformatting display or still have a large battle scene for the escape from Earth in TF:TM. Sweeps Six and Seven aren't important enough characters for me to shell out wen extra hundred bucks. Plus, they money spent on those could better go to more Sharkticons since I have the Quintesson pit box set and the ER versions of those characters.

Honestly, army building isn't for me, maybe for Marvel Legends I might but a battalion of sweeps isn't for me

HOWEVER for those that enjoy it, here's a great chance, not to mention that anyone who skipped on Scourge (including myself) has now an extra opportunity to pick him up. And in this day and age of spotty distribution and jink online orders, is a real blessing

Then you got spending-limiting parents to consider.

That too.
Even a 25yo dad would go full boomer at the idea in being forced to buy the same thing twice. "Take something else, champ. You can only get ONE 30$ toy. And bits the same thing twice. WTF is this?"

On a side note, the 75$ Cyberverse seeker platoon set is a shelfwarmer most likely for this reason.

They were found in Manassas West. In Virginia. Not West Virginia.

$99.99 - Collecticon Toys

$96.95 - eBay

$49.00 - Walmart (Out of Stock)

Those are the first three I could find.

I saw Grindor at a Target when I went Rodimus hunting today. He's popping up, so just remain vigilant.

Didn't find Rodimus but I found SS86 Slag clearly hidden behind a Kingdom Magnus. He stands next to my SS 86 Grimlock.

I check my email to see the new comments and it's just people posting John Denver..... this is not West Virgina (Mountain mamaaaaaaa) this is Seibertron!

in the interest of saying something relevant, I recently dusted my shelves and the toys on them. I have no idea where I'm going to put SS86 Slug when I get him because the autobot side of my 84-85 shelf is already much more full than the decepticon side. Collector problems.

Also while it's not technically SS86, it's adjacent enough. My Quintesson Pit of Judgment finally arrived and I'm actually hesitant to take the figures out of the box, it's such a good display. Tempted to get another but they're long gone and probably not coming back in stock a fourth time. I've never been a mint in box collector, firmly of the mindset that toys are meant to be played with, but this set is trying me.

The difference is that you wouldn't mistake any of those characters for another character. There's normally virtually no difference between Scourge and a Sweep, this is a dual purpose figure. if you missed Scourge this gives you a completely plausible substitute, but if you did get Scourge and want some Sweeps it gives you the option of something that's a little different. If Foot Soldiers looked exactly like Shredder would you still expect a two pack of Foot Soldiers? Besides, it's not like you get a discount for buying a two pack of Voyagers, in fact the way pricing has been you might have to pay more since multipacks have been sold at MSRP even at stores that don't sell single figures at MSRP. Hasbro won't sell two packs outside of exclusives so if a Sweeps pack was an Amazon exclusive you'd be paying over $70 for sure even if individual Voyagers are sold at $30.

So, the Sweep is an easy one purchase to use my existing three Scourges as the Sweeps. Not a problem.

Hey, does anyone else's SS-32 Optimus have extremely tight knees? I tried unscrewing them a bit but it doesn't seem to help. My Brawl also has a scary tight thigh swivel on one of his legs. Is there any possible fixes for that?

My SS-32 thankfully doesn't have any problems. But one of my SS-44 did have a thigh swivel that was glued together and another one the small tab broke off that holds the grill together. For Brawl, I think there are some screws on his thigh that you might be able to loosen?

Surprisingly, with all of the SS figures I have bought (almost every release at least once) and I have only had 3 or 4 problems.

Studio Series deluxe Jolt video review!

Greetings Seibertronians!

Fellow user LinaNui has pointed out that Prime VS Prime just posted his video review of the highly anticipated Studio Series deluxe class Jolt!

This Jolt is a brand new mold and a complete redesign from it's ROTF original toy. It's made to be more faithful to his appearance on the big screen. This Jolt has been waiting for a long time because the last toy released was from Takara's Movie Advanced line in 2014. It was a repaint of the 2011 DOTM toy in more screen accurate deco.

This time however, it's not just the color that matches the screen, it's the sculpt itself. And a fresh mold is always welcome!

See the video review below:

What do you think of this version of Movie Jolt?

I'll try, but I think the issue is that the mushroom peg is too wide in diameter. I might have to try taking it out and sanding it down a bit.

As for Jolt, he looks excellent! I've always really liked his design for some reason. Very glad they gave him those very lengthy whips.
