Unless Hasbro is willing to subsidize part of the cost of MP-11, this is version 3.

Try telling that to Takara. They are the ones referring this as version 2. Because mp 3 and 11 come from the same source, they must think they count as the same.

But that is the nature of a niche market, and a masterpiece figure is a niche market within a niche market. Like it or not, toy collectors are only a small part of the greater toy market. Which is why I don't get mad at one step changers; those are not made for me. The masterpiece line IS made for people like me though, and has drifted away from when I feel made it great before. Personal opinion that mind you. So I will complain about what I don't like, because I want what I do like.

I agree with this. To add onto your point (And also because you drug Destro into this  )
A good (outside franchise) example of this would be the recent GI Joe Classified Cobra Commander figure.
I just don't like it. I've tried. It's just too modern for me. I really wanted a classic one, With articulation on par with perhaps Marvel Legends. Thats not what they did. And so, I'm just not going to buy it, The one I want will probably come along sooner or later. The point I'm working towards, Is that figure probably wasn't made for me, Or with people like me in mind. Personally, I don't really feel the need to complain about it, It seems like a waste of time and energy to me, But people absolutely have the right to complain about a product that fails to live up to (possibly impossible) expectations. After all, People are paying for these things.
With their own money.
I've never understood apologists for companies saying "Oh you can't complain about that, They put a lot of work into it, It cost them money, Ect, Ect." This is a business arrangement, Between the supplier and the consumer. It is the supplier's purpose to make a product that appeals to as many people as possible, While still being profitable to them, And the consumer's purpose to discern whether or not they want said product, And exchange their money for said product if they do. When said product isn't what they or others wanted, The supplier fails on their first and most important requirement, To make something that appeals to as many people as possible. Therefore, The consumer absolutely has a right to complain.
After all, If they payed for it, The company already got their money (and really, even if they didn't) And the product still doesn't live up to expectations, The consumers are the ones getting the short end of the stick.

Does that mean repaints should be less expensive? :-D

I do agree with you about the initial costs though, it does take money, and I'm happy to support them because I really enjoy the figures/designs!

Something tells me he's gonna have absolutely no waist or torso articulation, and his transformation is going to be pure hell. At the best of times I'd say that sucks, but in a world where Maketoys Meteor exists, hard pass.

It's way too soon to judge.

Beside, Meteor cost 400$+ right now. So unless it get reissued, Meteor is no longer a viable option.

Additionally, to his complaint...precious few Seekers have waist articulation. Hell, Starscream didn't seem to have much articulation in the cartoon!

Yeah, I'm 40 and finally at the point where I'm thinking about home improvements instead of home repairs. Then again I'm sure things would be entirely different if I was married and had kids. ;)

Back on topic, since Starscream wont likely have electronics we can probably look at MP-49 Black Convoy as an idea of what the price will be like. I'm predicting somewhere around $200 with the exchange rate and less after Amazon Japan discounts.

I'm really, really looking forward the full physical prototype to see how it will work. As for the price, I paid CAN330$ shipped for that GARBAGE of MP-11. I felt scammed as hell. But if I pay the same price for this new version and it's worth every cents, I'll be very glad.

Now the waiting game.

He looks a little....stout.

But, so far, generally speaking, I am in to this and look forward to spending too much money on it.

I think he looks pretty much as good as he could, considering what they’re going for... Sorry, too stout??? Nahhh... At least imo, this looks incredibly good.
They’ve even managed to get an awesome resemblance in his face— I always thought the previous versions looked too generic.
This is going to be difficult to beat.
I’ll keep saying it until we know— I hope this guys doesn’t cost much over $250.
