If they aren't very expensive I think I'll grab the Laserbeak/Frenzy pack, since my reissue Lazerbeak has long since lost his head and I don't own the Frenzy/Rumble mold.

When did Laserbeak's laser get so short?

Nah the battle lines are pretty deep on this topic.

This rerelease is a deep loss for all FIRRIB fans. :-( However! We will not back down! Has long as :HASBRO: / :TAKARATOMY: are still around, this fight shall never be over!

Shhh, no one mention that the original toys were exactly like this, as that would prove that FIBRIR was the original idea.

You know, I find that I don't like any of the cassettes as well as those originals. Even the masterpiece versions come up short when compared to those in my mind. I don't know why. I mean they've updated virtually every character from G1 in one form or another and created superior toys ... except those guys. They're just neat. Glad to see them coming back!

Expect to pay $40 a pack for them.

I'm just worried what will happen if they decide to reissue Ratbat, given he originally came with Frenzy

Maybe they will save him for the Soundblaster release?

Damnit! I was gonna do just that after seeing all the comments! Yeah, this is nothing new. The G1 Hasbro releases always followed RIRFIB. It's the G1 cartoon that first gave us RIBFIR. Since then, Hasbro releases have alternated between the two naming schemes, fueling the fires of the debate. Takara has always remained loyal to RIRFIB, though, and even swapped the names back for Japan's release of the G1 cartoon a year later. Since this "Vintage G1" line is trying to emulate the original releases as much as possible, right down to how Soundwave and his minions were bundled and sold, it makes sense that Hasbro would retain the original RIRFIB naming scheme for this line.

I still say to this day, G1 Ravage is one of the most elegant Transforming toys ever made.

There's a pattern, but it's inconsistent. The main players in this war are either in team toy or team toon.

None of that contradicts what I said at all, actually. Takara Tomy has always done it RIRFIB, and Hasbro switches back and forth. Where I take offense, though, is in the name of that JPEG. Everyone knows their proper couple name is "Rumbzy!" [-(

I want to be excited for these but im sure they're going to be really over priced, wouldnt be surprised at all if they are around $30 if not more. Hopefully these will be the next hot rod & they'll show up in clearance for next to nothing

The Cassette reissues are absolutely amazing, especially in that beautiful G1 packaging. Soundwave and the cassettes are my weak spot alongside Pretenders! I like Blaster, but he just didn't do it for me like Soundwave.

Yeah, I am with you there. These seem awesome and I always wanted a G1 ravage but I am weary on the price. Also, because these will be really sought after, I fear that I will have to pay that high price (if its high) just to ensure I get them. I am hoping for a $20 CAD or less price point.

Well I'll be keeping my eye out for two sets, as per the Hot Rod, Devastator, Prime and Mini Vehicles reissues for some friends. Hopefully they, alongside the Soundwave and second batch of Mini vehicle reissues, will come in after MP BW Megatron drops...

Wow there must be a knee jerk response to assume people are trying to argue on the internet. I was supporting what you said with a visual reference. The vast majority of times RIRFIB (the pattern) with a few exceptions (the inconsistency). le sigh

A 'visual reference' someone else made two minutes earlier, and put a little more effort into than just copying a jpg... >:oP :P

Yeah I saw that after I hit submit. Took a few minutes to copy, paste, crop and upload the screen cap. And yours wasn't copied from the TFWIki? So I guess I was supposed to delete my copied info that I didn't paste first?

Mine was copied from the Wiki, only as plain text which I then manually adjusted on the page, as I was doing other things.
The ' :P ' indicates it's no big deal.

Maybe they'll do Enemy, or do the actual version of Frenzy that came with Ratbat which was the cheap version with plastic feet instead of die-cast, but came with the gold weapons.

Or confuse the issue even more, releasing Ratbat with Overkill or Slugfest?

I'd love to see them have some fun with this and do a Wing-thing (orange Ratbat) with Enemy 2-pack. That would be awesome. And a Howlback and Garboil 2 pack would be awesome as well. They could do endless Cassettes!

Though I'd really love to see Hasbro release Slamdance and Squawkbox at long last, who have never been reissued. I thought we'd get reissues of them long before we'd ever see "reissues" of the Dinosaur cassettes.
