See, I'm a weirdo and never liked the Classics Seeker mold for multiple reasons, so the fact that we're getting basically an upscaled version of it right after we just got a great Voyager Seeker mold really bothers me, not to mention it's the third Voyager Screamer in a row between PotP, Siege, and now Earthrise (I know the PotP one was bad, but it still exists). I think my issues with the Classics mold mainly stem from it being TOO G1 accurate. It's overly blocky, I can see exactly how it transforms without ever owning a copy of the figure, it's got unsightly kibble like an entire jet nosecone jutting out off the back and tailfins stapled to the sides of his feet, and compared to the excellent Siege mold it has worse articulation because it's missing a waist swivel for the sake of it's simple transformation. The arms also looked useless on the Classics mold, at least the Earthrise version looks to fix that. That's why the only way I can see myself buying this is when it gets retooled for Coneheads like we all expect and I can buy it as Ramjet, as that retooling will help with at least some of my complaints and it will be a character I don't have rather than just another Starscream.
That's also a main reason why I'm so tentative and ambivalent towards Earthrise right now, they did the same thing Siege did where the initial reveal didn't immediately get me on board, only a few figures appealed to me (in this case Wheeljack, Ironworks, Soundbarrier, and undecided on Grapple), but now the figures are lacking the unique Cybertronian/"Cybertronian" altmodes and styling that drew me towards getting some figures I probably wouldn't have otherwise and that I thought would be the whole POINT of the trilogy, AND they're overlapping with characters who just got Siege updates when I didn't even agree with every character chosen to get Siege figures to begin with. I could end up being wrong, I'd LIKE to be wrong, Siege won me over and now I'm sad to leave it, but right now it ain't looking too hot.
