I'm prone to thinking that they may remold blastoff's head. Much of the shots for the figures displayed at the panel look like mock-ups and not actual photos. It has rightly been pointed out that many of the pictures look like they are renderings from a 3D program. They probably just ran out of time before the panel reveal and retouched Quicksling vs. rendering a new head for him.

It's easy to believe then, since most of these figures won't see the light of day until mid-next year at the earliest, that Blastoff's head was a placeholder, and that his actual head will be much more show-accurate. Or so it is to be hoped. They've gone through a lot of effort to make sure that all the other figures have show-accurate heads at least. I can't imagine the would just totally broom blastoff like that. Why go through all the time and effort to make G1 accurate heads for Sunstreaker, Ironhide, et. all, and then ignore Blastoff?

Now Defensor is getting a brand new figure to increase his accuracy, most likely because there are no bikes to give a new head to for Groove.

At this point, I'd be amazed if Takara DOESN'T make a Space Shuttle Blast Off (versus Hasbro's Purple and Brown Slingshot) figure for Bruticus.

To be fair though there is no confirmation that it was Takara who gave us those wildrider and slingshot heads since Hasbro also released those very molds. It could have been Hasbro who designed those heads since they designed everything else combiner wars related with the exception of Groove (which is the only mold which was said to not be available (at retail price of course) overseas). Since they made their own mold with Groove it wouldnt surprise me they make their own with Blast Off. Here is hoping he isnt a takara tomy mall exclusive either, jacking up the price again.

If they do, it will most-assuredly be done similarly to groove, as there would be no reason not too - unless the tomy mall groove set doesn't sell well (which I don't see why it wouldn't do well  ).

However, IF groove is a remold of the technobot that would be why it was easy for TT to do this, just replace a piece of the vehicle mode to get a different bike mode, that would mean that TT would need a figure to remold blastoff from or into. This could mean that the flying technobot could be re-interpreted as a futuristic shuttle (which would fall in with the general theme of futuristic vehicles) and therefore capable of remolding into a normal shuttle.

ETA? :x

If they arrive in the States in June, we'll get them in the mail in early July is my guess. Maybe just in time for the weekend of the 4th? :)

Depends n the shipping rates you paid for. But your ETA is more or less correct.

Inferencing the release date.

Superion end of June 2015

Menasor end of August

Defensor end of October (Tomy Mall)

all by 2 months interval.

Maybe for Devastar, end of December 2015?

From what I can tell, UW Devastar has no ID number, just "UW" so he may be released "out of sequence". And don't forget Ultra Prime/Optimus Maximus, he was also teased:

Knowing TakaraTomy, they'll likely use the Star Convoy-like Battle Core head for Prime.

Hey guys about Blastoff's head I realize that when I'm only looking at his eyes/visor and not the rest of his face it does look like Blastoff spot on even the helmet looks like him.

A quick fix would be to get some brown putty or something like that and cover the mouth area and boom you get a G1 Blastoff head.

Would this idea work or am I just crazy?

No, you can put down the crazy pills. He does have big googly eyes like Blast Off.

Fingers crossed for a Wreck Gar repaint, or an actual Over ride, since tfcc is doing Ruckus and Windsweeper.

Yeah, apparently that was a running animation goof, which was fairly common with the Combaticons.

Then again, the original toy didn't seem to help:

Yah. But TT would or should give our wallets time to recover

And the Optimus combiner, me hopes that they'll color him standard Star Convoy color apps..... :x and not white.

Groove doesn't excite me nearly as much as some of those sweet paint apps. Streetwise and Blades look top notch! Wow!

Takara did make the better Blades. But Hasbro's Streetwise, in hand, is a pretty sweet TF. I'm impressed, even for a remold.

Sure enough right after people start getting email notifications that their TakaraTomy Transformers United Warriors UW-01 Superion is in stock and ready to ship, we've already got in hand galleries! Care of Prime0318 & TFyuki we get a glimpse of the snow white behemoth in all his glory, in and out of box. As we all know by now, this Superion differs from Hasbro's by being very G1 faithful in deco and members. So sorry Alpha Bravo supporters! And as a special treat, Yuki also Tweeted a humorous shot of upcoming Unite Warriors Hotspot with a herd of Starsaber Brains of Courage! See the pics below, and stay tuned to Seibertron.com: home for the best Galleries and Conversation around!
