I've had several opportunities to pickup Mirage but have been put off because of the translucent plastic. Am I being overly cautious or should I just go for it? I'm not worried about the cost, but I'd hate to grow fond of a figure to have it break during transformation.

Oh man, I am waiting to pick up the all clear blue version so if there is an issue I am ****! But honestly, there hasnt been much discussion on breakage. And the community is very loud about it when it happens, so I personally wouldnt worry. When in doubt, its best you get the figure because when its gone from the shelves it will can be ridiculously expensive. Just ask everyone who thought the RID 2015 line was beneath them, now they are stuck paying double-triple for figures.

Got into it via a cheap Soundwave. He might be my favourite just because Soundwave. I was desperately addicted not long after! I own or have pre-ordered almost the entire line... I buy them all now as I even think G2 Megatron looks great in hand!

The battle damage was what drew me in, but yeah, it's definitely an afterthought for some of the bots. I'm always happy to see it. It breaks up some seriously bright colours nicely IMO.

Siege is the perfect mix for me of G1 looks, at least one mode I can get behind, scale and price. For the same reasons I'm looking forward to Earthrise even more.

I find the tetrajets only work for me in certain colours (Thundercracker for example), but love bot mode.

The Datsuns... Ones I thought would look great in car mode (Bluestreak for instance) don't IMO, and some I've bought twice rather than continually change them. Though often they were on sale! There's always a mode I like though.

I'm so glad we're diving deeper into the Autobots, it's been a bit of a hike getting only particular characters just because of the moulds.

Blast effects. Love these, bought multiple Battlemasters for them but haven't actually organised my display proper yet... Haven't used the Battlemasters yet for the same reason.

If I hadn't known there would be a bigger focus on modular-enabling figures (Omega, Ironworks) I wouldn't have touched Micromasters; they're nasty.

Weaponizers I'll buy three times over for their different modes and as weapon packs.

Exclusives need to stop! It's especially infuriating as a UK buyer. I never know if I should pay import prices, have someone ship it to me, watch it become a standard release here etc. Hell, even watch Amazon struggle to supply their own exclusive!

Hasbro need to sort out their UK distribution, there's no rhyme or reason to it.

I love the line so much I'll be devastated once it's done. Though I'd imagine it's been such a hit we'll get something very similar. You have to wonder how they'll handle release schedules if the cartoon is a success though, like would they do a follow-on trilogy? I hope so.

I really need the Dinobots, Blaster and Combiners like Defensor, Bruticus, and Devastator at some point.

That'll do for now lol

Sounds like Earthrise has got you covered my friend :) Don't hold out much hope for Combiners just yet as the Combiner Wars ones are still very serviceable but who knows what the third part of the War for Cybertron trilogy will bring?

Ok, cool. I will pick him up my next chance then. And I definitely know hear ya about the pricing, tracking down my IDW favorites from the Titans Return line was expensive!

Gotta say I think Siege brought a lot of people back/in. Personally, I hadn't bought any Transformers in decades and I'm a fully-fledged geek  ; even to me previous lines and releases were a confusing mess in terms of visibility and availability. For Joe/Joanna Mainstream? Forget it. That's why I'm hopeful Hasbro will push the line towards the combiners that have played a massive part with IDW and likely the upcoming show.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we get a follow-up trilogy as we're still due the show, big-ass and expensive Omega Supreme seems to have sold well enough to get Scorponok, and clearly there's a lot of money to be made in little extras and inter-connectivity. If I'm right, they'd be mad to kill a line that's already been highly successful at mainstream retail without even having a show yet.

Only thing I've heard is the tabs that connect the legs to the torso in the vehicle mode, having him, I don't think it's too much of an issue, just be careful with him

Those tabs are the ones I have read complaints about. While I've been careful with my Apeface I know there were some reports of people breaking the shield peg because it is a translucent blue that's been painted. I'm probably being overly cautious and should just get him, such a sweet alt-mode.

Caution is always good with translucent plastic, have broken several recent movie car-bots cuz the car shell is all translucent plastic. mirages legs to require a lot of manhandling, just be gentle and take your time transforming it and it'll be fine

We were getting Scorpy anyway :D We've already seen his head unit (which transforms into a robot mode itself, like cerebros in Fort Max) We even know that the Scorpy head is actually modelled on his Visor design from the Rebirth cartoon and other parts of the franchise.

So far the new continuity for IDW have only used Devesator (in Transformers Galaxies) and he's looking exactly like his titan class toy, so when you say Combiners IDW used, do you mean in the old continuity? There's no word on a cast list yet for the new cartoon, but I'd be suprised to see Combiners in it, people might think it's related to the horrible macinema tf cartoons

Yeah, I knew about Scorponok but I'd imagine they wanted to know how well Omega was received before they committed to another Titan class figure.

Yup, old continuity. Haven't started the new stuff, though I'm dying to.

It is a little incredulous that so little is known about it considering

How far along the toyline is

The internet

And just generally how promotion for these things works!

I can't help wondering if there's been a bit of a delay somehow.

Siege has been pretty good to us, gave us some really solid figures.

My Omega was just ordered tonight, and he is on the way! Excited to experience him.

i didn't get Siege Springer. T30 Springer is my definitive Springer

Overall, I feel like Siege has been an amazing toyline. As much as I hated it at first because of the overly G1 designs, it's won me over and has me more excited to see what Earthrise is going to offer. Though, I will say that it was really only after they got the big hitters out of the way that I completely fell in love. The articulation, QC, and even detail has been exceptional, but the most fun was seeing them finally dive into the less well known characters like the Rainmakers. Plus, Hasbro revisiting characters that haven't had toys since the 80s like Crosshairs and Apeface. Generally, Siege has been a great toyline, and I'm looking forward to seeing how Earthrise compares

I honestly don’t understand the “ugh, G1 design” sentiment I keep seeing. Siege is the first time in over 30 years that we finally have proper mainline figures for a large number of characters, including Optimus, Megatron, Ratchet, Ironhide, Soundwave, Springer, Omega Supreme, etc. I honestly can’t believe it has taken this long for these characters to receive proper figures. The plastic quality is much better, joint tolerances are improved, articulation is greatly improved, universal joints instead of ball joints for most limbs, etc. There is probably an argument regarding the Classics line, but most of those figures were not proper G1 representatives, and none of them come close to the quality and accuracy of the Siege figures. The Prime Wars trilogy was already a step up from previous lines, and Siege took that improvement much farther. I could not be happier that Hasbro took this direction.

...this part isn't serious, right?

...okay, see, that right there is why you don't get that complaint: the thing that people who say that (which include me on certain days) are complaining about is exactly the thing you want, from what it sounds like. Multiple of these characters have received updates in those 30 years you mentioned, some of them multiple times, but I guess figures like T30 Springer, who's amazing, don't count as a "proper" Springer because he isn't a blocky lumpman 100% G1 accurate with nothing new? :???:

Then again, I didn't grow up with G1, so I guess it's difficult for me to understand your point of view too. From my POV though, people who want just G1 updates get what they want right now and they STILL complain (who cares what color Earthrise Prime's HANDS are?!), while those who want more than JUST G1 S1-2 again or maybe don't even like G1 get thrown a bone with maybe....2-5% of what gets put out in Generations?

...if you didn't actually want an explanatory response, feel free to ignore me, Primus knows this debate has been brought up on this thread more than enough times.
