the white looks amazing!

Also, that is a terrible way to transform streetwise in arm mode. And last thing... Rook?!

Defensor from the first set of photos is the Hasbro version, however, in the second set, Hot Spot with all the little Brainmasters was the Takara one.

Must be nice being Yuki. That many Brain of Courages would cost a normal person more than $2K. I imagine he just walked over to a bin at the factory and grabbed a couple handfuls. I guess when you design these things there isn't much stopping you from taking what you want.

Thanks for that! Just confirmed I'll be picking up the US version of Air Raid and Skydive for their (imho nicer) altmode paint schemes while awaiting UW-01's arrival. =)

Now Defensor is getting a brand new figure to increase his accuracy, most likely because there are no bikes to give a new head to for Groove.

At this point, I'd be amazed if Takara DOESN'T make a Space Shuttle Blast Off (versus Hasbro's Purple and Brown Slingshot) figure for Bruticus.

If Takara makes their own Blast Off then I'll pass entirely on Hasbro's Combaticons. Except for Brawl, and Swindle.

After Quickslinger I'm like 90%+ happy with Hasbro Superion, but looking at those lovely pics sure is riling up that ~10%.

I won't lie, that ~10% could be solved with PE's Return of G1 Swag.

PE can't take the off-white out of Hasbrobolt.

As others have pointed out before they could easily retool the Alpha Bravo mold Blast Off. He'd effectively be upside down compared to the original, but it'd still work.

But whatever they plan to do I'm definitely leaning towards Takara Tomy on this one. Proper Blast Off plus proper colors will sell me on it easily. This is Hasbro's second Onslaught in a few years and once again his role as a torso is funny colored. I want a gray head and chest, none of this black and brown stuff. They've done a good job with the first three and Devastator, but Bruticus feels like a step back. Bruticus has a pretty straight forward color pattern, I don't know why Hasbro keeps messing it up at retail.

You watch, super accurate Bruticus at SDCC 2016.

This set looks awesome, can't wait to receive mine.

The only thing i don't like is that the individual guns aren't all black.

Emerje, are you aware of the running change Hasbro announced for Onslaught? Apparently, he will be available in 2 colours at retail. One with a green chest and the other one with grey instead.

Could be just my phone's screen, but isn't Tak's SB off white too? Or is Has's SB offwhiter? I was under the impression Tak's was stark white.

I'm not feeling how dark grey Tak's Street wise is. Looks a little off to me. I think I like all of Has's Protectobits just a little more. Dat Groove, I'm lovin' it.

What's wrong with huge Grooves? I think he is a pretty neat figure. What we need is a pic of Groove Jr. riding Groove Sr. The legs may have to be scissored a bit to get it to work.

I really dislike that streetwise. Colourwise, he just doesnt fit with that cool sterile white aesthetic the other limbs share. Groove looks great though!

Oh I know. But all along from the very first combiner announced (superion), the reason for me to choose between Takara and Hasbro was based on how good the team looks together. This is beyond any nostalgia or need for likeness to the show. I preferred all jets for Superion because it worked better for the theme. I liked all different molds for Menasor because that team seemed to look better the more eclectic it was. And in the case of Defensor, I really like the rescue theme it has with the red white and blue. I would have preffered having that Groove instead of Rook but at least Rook fits the colour theme beautifully. Not sure if all the white is the same from figure to figure on the Hasbro version but I hope it is. That grey on Streetwise clashes too much for me.

They are practically all out of scale. Since when is a normal cop car bigger than an SUV and the same size as a SWAT vehicle? I would personally preffer we keep scale off the equation and only deal with the scale of the robot modes in comparison to one another as to the way they compare to eachother in the fiction (which all these robot modes do).
