Stiiiiiiiiiil, he's pretty damn awesome and it will be one of the rare movie toy that I'll pre-order.

I get that, but the designs changed within Bay's time as well, during the previous soft reboot that happened with AOE where Optimus' design change drastically. This goes more with those, like Drift, Crosshairs, Hound, Hot Rod, the new Barricade, ect. Still Bayverse but from a different period.

Well, I wish they would go crazy with the designs again.

A fully CGI series based on the home planet of the ROTB beastformers would allow that.

That won't work. It's too original and not G1 enough.

That was sarcasm.

With our first look, yesterday, at two Studio Series toys coming out in 2023, I thought it would be a good time to consolidate all the listings we got to give you a full view of what is coming out next year in that line. I didn't realise the Studio Series High Moon figures were appearing so soon?

Suddenly thinking ahead to (maybe) SS Metroplex and Bruticus??

I have a feeling you'll be waiting a bit longer for those two.

True. But for those people asking for a new/redux Metroplex. I'd say it would likely be this one.

That's doesnt make sense to me since the previous Metroplex was the one from WFC. We'd get a more g1 accurate Metroplex before revisiting a WFC Metroplex.

This is my thinking, and I'm surprised Warden left before he got a crack at it. As it is, i can't see them doing Metroplex till 2025? Gives them a couple of years removed from Cybertron Metroplex.

Comparing the two, the WFC one just looks like an update to the original design. So I'd assume any new Metroplex would work from the WFC model and fix it's problems IE the teeny, tiny waist.
I don't imagine there would be a need to revisit the "G1" look, in lieu of the WFC one. Outside of a Selects-style redeco?

Is Swoop going to be Leader Class? If not, that might explain him being last??

Isn't Swoop rumored to be a voyager? Maybe they want to get the leaders out of the way?

I'm largely removed from collecting Bayverse figures in general, and I have low expectations for the new movie, so unless some of these are visually stunning and the engineering is next level, I'll probably just stick with Frenzy and Snarl. Maybe Brawn. I would like to see Springer get released in SS86. Just the cleaned up version of the Siege figure.

I still think Devastator should be done in SS86, either as single releases or a set, or both like RoTF Devy was. Or just reissue CW Devy in SS86 packaging.

Optimus and Megatron should still be coming. But I guess there's a near bottomless goldmine in the potential new figures from the game designs.

How far would they go with game designs? WFC Springer, Broadside and the other concept designs that didn't make it into the series? Or just the base roster?

There is also the PS2 Transformers game, based loosely on Armada. That could bring a select number of UT figures some modern updates.

Pretty sure swoop was confirmed as leader, he might have a small bit of plastic with him like grimlock or starscream did to look worthy of the pricing.

Remind me, where was it confirmed that WFC meant High Moon rather than Netflix?

Swoop has been rumoured to have been both at one point. I think he'll be leader on account of the plastic needed for the wings.

Regarding Metroplex, it was said that Warden wanted a more G1 take on ole plex (read not stretched out just to gain a title that he held for 2 years just to give to Fortress...who then lost it to Unicron). I'd imagine the intent would be to have a plex with G1 proportions.

Bear this in mind though that we've yet to have a titan class outside the main Generations line branding yet (one exception being when Takara did Grand.) It's entirely possible that Studio Series never gets a commander or titan class of It's own. Only time will tell if it holds true

EDIT:

Omegatron. wrote:Remind me, where was it confirmed that WFC meant High Moon rather than Netflix?

While more an assumption still (baring either a leak of figures or official confirmation), it's down to there already being a Netflix wfc line.

When it was noted that Studio Series would be going from films to video games. A Netflix WFC line already exists. So it wouldn't make sense for it to be in the SS line, too.

Cool toys! It also means we're gonna have to wait a bit more for a Studio Series Rise of the Beasts Optimus Prime.

Day 1058 of waiting for Transformers Armada Masterpiece news.

And a G1 already exists but they still put G1 toys in Studio Series, so I don't find that very persuasive.

It hasn't officially but we have just had a line of screen accurate decos to the Netflix series and Siege, so while it could be a line of reissues, it's doubtful.

Really this is the problem of having two completely different things called War For Cybertron

Studio Series '86 AKA G1: The Movie. Hence why it was in the SS line. Netflix series has no movie. But High Moon does have a video game series.

Very true, they performed that one 3 times (2 cartoons, their respective toy lines and a prime sub line)

No official confirmation from Hasbro, but that goes for this entire list. The confirmation came from JTPrime who has access to distributer info, he is the same source for most of these early listings.

The latest news from a Hasbro designer is that they are all the same size, as was the case in the G1 show.

Thats an interesting one since it's a glaring omission. But, unlike all the others, Optimus retains the same design he had before, so it could just be a reissue within the SS line, apart from the main line, or a reissue in the Buzzworthy line.

I love both Airazors. Call me weird, but I do! I'll probably go for the mainline one though.

And Battletrap? Awesome!
