Regular programming is still interspersed throughout the year

Cheetor looks good, definitely adding him and the movie line figure to my Cheetor collection, but it isn't particularly accurate. Hopefully they make another one that cleans up the cheetah mode to make it more sleek and hide the hands.

PhelesDragon wrote:I think we're gonna find that someone screwed up and this wasn't supposed to be the SS Airazor. This looks more like the Kingdom release retool, similar to what Cheetor has going on right now, with a more accurate Studio Series release. No way the image below isn't meant to be the actual SS Airazor.

The one in your picture using the entirely new mold is for the ROTB line, the one using the same engineering as the Kingdom figure is the SS figure. It's obvious now that the ROTB line figures are going to have head sculpts based on the original Beast Wars designs. I don't think it was a mistake that the two Airrazor figures turned out the way they did, the ROTB line was supposed to come out last year with the movie and SS this year so they knew what they were doing.

If you mean the Studio Series returning to older movies, give it a year.

Sounds accurate. Between ROTB, SS86 and the leaked/rumored High Moon game figures, yeah, it's a crowded year.

It's not, the gray back toes perfectly match the orange front toes. Plus I don't think there's any way to spin that around until you get up to the above knee swivel, but turning it would make his entire lower leg backwards, not just his feet. The tiny bot feet are the right ones.

I do think they screwed up and reversed the forearm transformation. I don't think the mechanical parts are supposed to be exposed in alt mode, surely they're supposed to be covered by the fur panel like in the bot mode pictures. It does make the front legs rather thick for a cheetah, but the art does show furry panels on the side of the legs.

The more I look at that figure the more I wonder how long it'll take Hasbro to retool or engineer share it into Cybertron Leobreaker.

It's not a bad figure, but that isn't a cheetah's body. Cheetahs are long and thin, that is thick and muscular, and honestly doesn't really appear feline at all to me. Add a longer tail, a simian head and lose the claws and you'll have a pretty good monkey.

I wish the grey bits were blue, and I really don’t like that head, but otherwise I don’t mind this figure. The beast mode is cool.

They'd probably just do what they did with AirRazor but in reverse, and somehow just share the engineering in a different mold.

Yes, the arms are clearly not transformed correctly as are the hind legs in beast mode. That's not how cheetah legs bend.

Looking at the other Cheetor we saw, it looks like his robot mode is supposed to have the cheetah claws as his feet. That other Cheetor even goes as far as giving him a second set of cheetah paws for robot mode that hide in the legs.

The dark cheetah claws are supposed to be his Robot feet, not the stubby orange ones.

Looking at the trailer, however, there is no clear shot of Cheetor's feet unfortunately.

With the said, Unlike Airazor which have a similar robot modes and even hawk modes, the 2 Cheetors are very different from each other.
I kind of like the Mainline Cheetor a bit more now.

Especially considering that ss86 is only a subline-like deal. Plus we're about to get another addition to the line in the form of the War For Cybertron games.

it's not regular programming because there are a dedicated for a certain movie release. Though maybe I should have worded it differently since SS encompasses all movies. I'll rephrase by saying I have zero interest in beast bots regardless the line/packaging.

I'd wager it's because it is more like the original Beast Wars Cheetor. Change is evil, after all, and Primus forbid we see anything different from what came previously...

There's still Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Arcee, Wheeljack, Mirage, Stratosphere, Scourge, Nightbird, Battltrap, and Freezer. They ain't beasts.

And they outnumber the beasts more than 2-to-1, since there's only four Maximals (Optimus Primal, Cheetor, Airazor, and Rhinox).

There's literally no way for this to happen, the articulation doesn't allow for it. There is no joint anywhere that allows for the foot to face the other direction in either mode. If you put the orange feet on the front of cheetah mode you have nowhere for the bot's shin to go since it has to pivot to the back of the leg, and in bot mode the orange toes have to face forward otherwise his shin and knee would be on the back of his leg, it's all connected. You can't use the ROTB line figure based on Kingdom Cheetor as proof, that figure is as far as you can get from movie accurate.

They don't look aesthetically different from the other Movieverse 'bots, which is what Studio Series is all about.

Finally finished my custom Studio Series Hot Rod! I based my paint work on the final CG model from TLK, which has a few differences from the model that the Studio Series figure is based on. You can notice that particularly with the shoulders and upper legs!

The tires are what took the longest to finish, those thin lines were tricky!

Me neither, I got him through Amazon back in November. I only just saw SS Galvatron in stores the other week, haven't seen DOTM Bee or Sideways in stores either.

Man, he looks great!

The truck mode really conveys the "being feared by all factions" part.
His robot mode is very intimidating.
The truck bed has kiblle but it's not a deal breaker.
