From what I've heard Astrotrain (and I suppose by extension Sentinel) is the best Voyager in the line so far and a few people feel he's one of the best figures of the line overall.
The biggest fault I've seen people have is that they don't like the alt modes that much; but if you're into their aesthetic then you're gonna have a blast.

Ever since I saw Cobotron switch around the shoulders I've really been wanting a version of this mold and I dig obscure characters.

Btw i'm still miffed that we never got a Cliffjumper out of that mold instead of Roadburn

Might be an unpopular opinion, but I kinda prefer it that way actually. We get Cliffjumpers from Bumblebee all the time; the only time I can recall that not happening was with Thrilling 30 Bumblebee. I prefer the idea that we're getting an obscure character like Chase and maybe some other Throttlebots out of him - give the underdogs a chance.
Admittedly this also means I would have preferred if this mold was someone else instead of Bee in the first place... but it's Bumblebee. They have to fill that quote somehow and I'm honestly shocked they didn't give their money-making machine a way to combine in the last line.

There's been one use of the mold other than bumblebee add even then the bumblebee mold JUST came out. There's nothing that's saying that we won't get cliffjumper eventually.

In other news, guys, as of this past December, the Titans Return toy design for Alpha Trion has finally seen its first depiction in Transformers fiction outside of that "The Power of the Titan Masters" promotional booklet.

The design appeared in the TCC story titled "Coalescence"... repurposed as Shattered Glass Alpha Trion in a new body.



Not to mention that Titans Return Overboard had his design repurposed as SG Squeezeplay (but anyone wanting SG Fangry will instead have to customize TR Fangry in G1 Grotusque colors).

So any SG collectors here needing any incentive to get Alpha Trion and/or Overboard now have one.

I'm not a fan of the train mode or the choo choo heel spurs but that pretty much all I don't like. The shuttle mode is cool and has some neat landing gear. Bot mode is large, imposing and fun to pose. I get a mobster thug vibe from him, could be the wingtips. Transformation is a bit on the simple size, but satisfying.

I agree, I was glad to see not just another Cliffjumper. I was going to skip this mold until it became a character I didn't have yet.

Cliffjumper was one of the rumored figures further down the line, but any details are still missing. If you ask me, he'll be a new mold or a heavy retool as Roadburn aka Autobot Chase has the "red Bumblebee redeco" niche filled.

O for Primus' sake, they're still doing SG repurposings?! Well, to be honest, I kinda saw SG Squeezeplay coming... Speaking of Grotusque, better hold off on customizing your Fangry, because I have a funny feeling the joking Monsterbot will be his retool.

Well, that was kinda the end of the SG repurposes, considering that that was the final SG story published before Fun Pub's TF license expired at the end of 2016.

Although, I've a feeling repurposes in general (not just SG ones) will continue to occur in this brand for the foreseeable future.

Eh, I wasn't that interested in Overboard anyway, give me either Crashbash or Clobber.

I've been looking around here in Melbourne for the TR figures and it's been difficult. I mean, when they first hit I saw a lot of Hardhead, Blurr, Scourge and some Mindwipe. I've seen Blaster a bit, PMOP in one store, Astrotrain and Sentinel at one KMart and some of the legends (mainly the decepticon tapes). NOw all I can find are a bunch of Scourge and Galvatron. Weeks after Christmas I haven't seen a refresh of the shelves at all. All I can find around is Scourge, Galvatron and a bunch of RiD stuff. No, wait, I lie, I *did* see a single Hot Rod at a Target a few weeks back (and by single I mean there were no other TR TFs in the shop, just some Rescue Bot stuff). I kinda regret not getting him, but I couldn't justify the $30.

The distribution is rubbish.

By All Means say : Transformers : Generations : Titans Returns (2017) Wave 1.

But boy is it quicker and a whole lot less confusing to say Wave 4. or if not wave four "The Fourth Wave" which is still accurate regardless of what Hasbro calls it.

Besides when have we ever been under any obligation to pay any attention to what Hasbro says. ?

How many people calls Soundwave's Minions Deployers ? or refer to the "Classic Line" as Robots in Disguise (as yes that is what the stupid thing is actually called as are 3 other lines as well).

It's a darn site easier to conveniently forget that Transformers Prime's post First Edition toys are called "Robots in Disguise" just as it's convenient to call the 2010 'Transformers' line "Hunt for the Decepticons" (and often be lazy and wrap Reveal the shield into that as well)

As otherwise it causes confusion - the sort of confusion caused by product name re-uses like Titan and Activator also cause.

So If you say to someone "Titan's Returns Wave 1" it should mean the line of some months ago not the line of "Just recently" otherwise no one is going to have a clue what anyone is on about.

That said if writing or talking to Hasbro themselves it might be a good idea to be more precise. and boy I feel sorry for retailers as the toy buyers are likely going to see a listing for Titans Returns Wave 1 or 2 and either make a mistake and re-order the old ones by mistake or think they've already had them so not order them - or make other errors.

As the type of info Hasbro gives out to retailers is terrible and really vague. The Language is so vague on these listings that back in 2006 or so when retailers were trying to buy Beast Wars 10th toys they'd end up with a Star Wars Beast assortment instead.

So yeah please say "4th wave" so we are all on the same page - but when it comes to RID there has been so many now - I've actually lost count at around wave 11.

Plus, if they're -really- going with the whole "2017 Wave 2" thing, shouldn't CW waves 5 and 6 been 2016 waves 1 and 2 with TR waves 1 and 2 being 2016 waves 3 and 4? Whole thing's a bloody mess. I'm pretty sure this is still called Wave 4 officially anyhow with "2017 Wave 2" being something given to suppliers and such since that's more relevant information for them.

... plus, as far as I can tell, we as a news team have consistently referred to this Wave as Wave 4 - looked through all news pertaining to it and the number 2 is nowhere to be found. And I think we should keep it that way

That is a good point I had not considered that Technically Titans Returns IS (as Obi Wan would say) ; "From a certain point of view" technically a higher numbered Generations wave even more so if you include the numbering from the start of the Prime Wars theme.

And if you want to get super picky and count Thrilling 30 and all Videogame toys and such you can take the numbering all the way back to Deluxe Thrust and Drift as the first toys branded as 'Generations'. and that was 7 years ago !!

And the product codes used are of no real help in deciding the matter. In fact, it seems to confirm that "Generations" is only a name, and what we consider sub-lines like Combiner Wars and Titans Return are the actual lines.

Let's do a comparison between Generations and RiD2015, Deluxe Class vs. Warrior Class:

Combiner Wars Deluxe Class: B0974
Titans Return Deluxe Class: B7762

Robots in Disguise Warrior Class: B0070
Mini-Con Weaponizers Warrior Class: B0070

See what I mean?

There will be no buyers remorse from buying AStrotrain. Him being a headmasters doesnt hurt him in anyway and the robot mode is freaken epic. Do yourself a favor and get that bad boy!

The TR stuff of 2016 is TR wave 1 2016 and wave 2 2016

They restart the numbering all the time. Like Trailbreaker from generations, he was technically in the 5th gen wave, but Hasbro restarted the counter with him, labeling him as the first of the series:

I was gonna write 2017 wave 2 for the headline today and I did at first, since that is the correct name, and robot kingdom uses it and its one of the main sources here, but I realized that it would confuse people since I wasnt writing the names of the characters in the headline so I decided to write wave 4, because I knew at least that would not be confused. Thats what Orbital Comics was doing.

But that doesnt change the name of this Krok wave to technically be TR wave 2 2017.
